This song is great lyrically, ryan's just basically describing a form of a daydream spilling from his head, but he's put more of a theme to it, in this case a dock at sea.... what could have inspired this? im not sure, sometimes after i maybe watch a great movie about something in particular, i write poems about it. Again, great song, i love the waxed pond bit. |

| Hold on, your saying you dont like the new album? what? I LOVE THE NEW ALBUM. Both albums match up to each other, maybe its just your music style you are into. The last album was more teenage and dance/electro but this album, its more classical and more indie blues. OK, so this is what i thin the song means. I dont think the lyrics have a meaning of anything deep :] Ryan probally began writting the first verse about how he felt about what everyone was judging them by thier looks "i wont shave my beard or cut my hair" the hair is fancy, it makes them them, but really it grows nowhere. it doesnt do anything. thats why they dont want to be known as pretty boys anymore, they have grown up into men. as for the next verse, the movie soundtrack sounding one.... swan diving off the deep end of my tragic ciggarette Its more of a mental picture, it doesnt have a meaning, its fun. He probally got that from maybe a movie, moulin rogue or something. As panic said, some songs in the album where serious while others where just passing thoughts or something for fun, entertaining. :] i hope that helps if you are trying to figure out the meaning of the song |

this song, well i couldnt say i liked the grundgy kinda beat it starts off with when i heard it the first few times. but as brenden sings.... i can understand why they choose to start off with such a hard conspicous sound. Yes this song is aimed at the media, but not the media now, more the media... well in anytime... meaning ryan ross is refering to the media in that ageless time, media will always be like this. attention ,cameras etc. annorexia (i believe the 'i wasnt born a skeleton refers to that) This song connected with me a bit more because of the camera bit, im going to do photography for a living, fashion photography... |

Ryan has a boyish honesty to his voice, its so precious. I love the first half of this song, "come save me from walking of a window sill or i'll sleep in the rain" its almost like that third eye blind song, jumper except i like this song much more than any third eye blind song, panic has more talent thanks to ryan's diverse style or writting and brenden's soothing voice, the music they all make together connects with the lyrics well. yes i do believe this is about a man's hard life in america, unfortunate and cruel, it seems he suffers. i dont believe it is really about the 50's or anything, more based in any time... its about what he goes thru, not the date that its set. wonderful beggining, not as pleased with how the song follows the begging tho |

This song is beautiful and sweet the music gives it that hallelujah feeling, a sad song with happy lyrics altho the lyrics of course are subtly sad, Ryan ross.. wow, why cant all guys write like he does? infact, i cant write or have ideas half as good as him. i love the way he thinks. i adore songs that give you an emotion or mood instead of a speific meaning. like as im listening to this song i can feel, empathize with the feeling and time that has followed the band, the time that has past, the long nights they have spent not looking forward to tommorow hence 'hey moon dont you fall down' i wish that almost every night, for the moon to not go down. i hate the ending of one day and the start of a next.... This song has so much meaning, within, not precisly the lyrics... but together within the music and lyrics, does anyone understand what im saying? about the beautiful mood it creates? - one word. Beautiful :] *sigh* It reminds me of my life sometimes. |
