| Chantal Kreviazuk – Wayne Lyrics
|
I think Wayne is someone she loves who has passed away. Either her father, brother, husband, etc. And she's telling him to "wait for me" because love transcends lifetimes. And she wants Wayne to wait for her in heaven or whatever place he is in.
A truly sad song. |

| Pink – Hooker Lyrics

Love this song. It's basically about a person who has no morals, no shame or any dignity and sells themselves to others as if they were a "hooker". I can relate to this song so well. I see these types of people everywhere.
I know people who would prefer to be friends with someone who makes them look good and gives them a better reputation than someone who is nice and caring and friend material. That's a hooker. |

| Pink – Could've Had Everything Lyrics
|
|
I like this song. I think it's about a wasted oppurtunity. She could have gone done a path in which would have resulted in "everything" but instead she chose another and regrets it. It's kind of like a "how did I end up here" song. |

| Pink – Waiting For Love Lyrics

|
It's obviously about a woman who has been unsuccessful at finding a soulmate or someone to take care of her. It's also probably about someone incredibly lonely and needs someone in her life to cure her loneliness. |

| Madonna – American Life Lyrics
|
Half of this song is sarcasm for sure. The song is basically about how "American Life" is defined by negative things like superficiality, greed, materialism, etc.
The video, on the other hand, is more about how war is glorified in the media. Hence the fashion show. |

| Madonna – Hollywood Lyrics

|
This song is very consistent with the overall theme of American Life, the album. This song is pure sarcasm. The general message is that there's more beyond the surface of a visually appealing place like Hollywood. As well, it's obviously showing how superficial and materialistic some people are. Either the people living in Hollywood and flaunting their prized possessions, or those who want to live in Hollywood. |

| Madonna – I'm So Stupid Lyrics
|
|
The song's meaning is pretty obvious. Basically she spent a large portion of her life trying to be something she's not. Also, the song is about trying to attain an unachievable dream. And when she realizes her dreams and ambitions were shallow and pointless she looks back and thinks to herself "I'm So Stupid". |

| Pink – Gone To California Lyrics

I LOVE this song. Everyone can relate to the feeling that Pink had when writing this song. Everyone wants to escape to a better place where the sun is shining and the people are nice. Of course California isn't the BEST state in the world, in my opinion. |

| Christina Aguilera – Walk Away Lyrics

|
There's so much emotion poured into this song. It's basically about an unhealthy relationship in which one member keeps craving the other despite knowing it's not the best decision. It happens a lot with women who feel the need to go back to their ex, meanwhile everyone from an objective viewpoint has no idea why that person keeps going back to that person who keeps treating them so poorly. |

The song is saying that there is more to beauty than the outside and the physical appearance. It's a very encouraging song. |

| Christina Aguilera – Soar Lyrics

This song is about not letting your insecurities interfere with your potential. As well, it's saying not to disguise your true self for the sake of others. It all boils down to personal happiness and not the satisfaction we get from others. |

I'm quite sure this song is dedicated to not just her father, but everyone else who tried to misuse her. There's probably a long list of people that could apply to. |

| Pink – Stupid Girls Lyrics

People NEVER get the true meaning of this song. She's not saying if you dress sexy than you are a slut. She is saying that there's no need to dumb yourself down to impress a guy. I know JUST what she means. There's nothing wrong with being sexy if you're comfortable with it. But she's saying NOT to do it for the sake of impressing a male.
She makes fun of Lindsay Lohan because she is obviously a starlett who is in the industry for the fame and money. She makes fun of Jessica Simpson because it's clear she's taking her clothes off to preserve her career. And she bashes Paris Hilton for being silly enough to make a sex tape. |

| Madonna – 4 Minutes Lyrics

There is simply no meaning to this song. Justin Timberlake wrote some of it, so that's no surprise.
The lyrics are just randomness and there is little to no substance or meaning to the 4 Minutes part. |

| Madonna – Paradise (Not for Me) Lyrics

I think it's official this song is about suicide. The video proves this, but the song has very obscure lyrics and it's hard to trace the meaning of it.
I really wish someone could thoroughly explain this song. |

| Alicia Keys – The Thing About Love Lyrics
| 17 years ago
|
She's saying that love is a risk. But, in the end, it pays off. She also mentions a few times that it is a scary, yet incredible experience.
A lot of people give up on love or feel that they will never experience it. And I guess she's saying don't give up, and don't give in. |

| Pink – I Got Money Now Lyrics
|
She's basically speaking about how money, fame and prestige does not have as much value as one might think. She's obviously being sarcastic in this song, but it's used to show the listeners just how pathetic it is that some people feel money can solve their problems.
This is a very relatable song. Everyone wants to show off their expensive designer clothes, or their new car just for a quick impression. But then what? Is that going to help in you life? Does it even matter? She's trying to say that friends, family, relationships are what's really important. |

| Pink – Lonely Girl (feat. Linda Perry) Lyrics
| 17 years ago
|
This is a strange song because most of the first and second verse is very depressing and speaks about her loneliness and pain which she experiences. But then the chorus sounds slightly more optimistic and contains the lyrics:
A borrowed dream or a superstar?
I want to be a star
So in a sense, it's sort of a song about following your dreams and escaping your misery.
I think it's a song about stepping up and taking control of your life. It sounds that way to me. |

| Kelly Clarkson – Maybe Lyrics
|
This is one of my favorite songs in the world.
It is slightly easy to see what it's about. It's a song that a lot of complex and emotional people can probably relate to. It's obviously about a break-up, and she's saying maybe we'll meet again when the time is more appropriate. This is evident in the line when she says: "One day, when we're at the same place, and we're on the same road, when it's OK to hold my hand."
The song also reveals how confused and erratic she really is. |

| Kelly Clarkson – Irvine Lyrics
|
Well, Irvine a place where she performed, and apparently in the bathroom she wrote this song, and she was feeling depressed.
I'm pretty sure this song is a prayer that attempts to confirm the existence of God. Because she says: "Are you there? Are you watching me?" So my understanding is that, at the time, she felt like her life was missing a God or someone to watch over her and make sure her life runs smoothly. Because she also says "I know you're busy, I know I'm just one." So, essentially, I feel that throughout the whole song she is giving a prayer to God and hoping for some sort of reply. It never really specifies WHAT makes her depressed. |

| Pink – Cuz I Can Lyrics
|
Most people think this song is a superficial declaration of Pink's celebrity status and wealthy lifestyle.
I actually think it's quite ingenius. It's basically a parody of the common attitudes of the rich and famous and how they feel they are above others due to their fancy possessions (cars, houses, clothes) and how careless and unaware they are.
The reason I know it is a joke is because Pink would not go from singing Stupid Girls and deploring the lack of good role models, to singing about being rich and famous, which is exactly what she bashed in the first place. |

| Christina Aguilera – Make Over Lyrics
|
It's very easy to grasp the idea of this track. A common theme in Christina Aguilera's songs is how she was misused for the benefit of OTHERS.
This song is basically about how in the early stages of her life she was simply a creation that was intended to make money and sell albums.
And basically she is singing about how she is fed up with being made to be someone she's not. She says "I just want to lay simple and free." She just wants to do her own thing in regards to her musical career, her image and her personal decisions. |
