i think she means that everyone is in these little bullshit relationships that are doomed from the start. its so easy for them to get a temporary relationship, when all she wants is a real one. i feel for her. even though i'm on 17 and have yet to love (never even had a boyfriend) i can relate to this song. |

i think it is about a dead woman who has to watch her husband live life without her. and it sucks for her, because she's a ghost, and she wants nothing more than to talk to him and be with him, but she can't since she's not alive. and it kills her. |

damn, no comments? this song is fifty different levels of RAW. it sounds like prog metal to me, but metal nonetheless. i don't even listen to metal a whole lot, but when i heard it on the XM channel's metal station, i was instantly hooked because it's so HEAVY. and the lyrics are deep. come on. a song about what slavery does to people. i luv it. |

i think its about the 'in' crowd. how these people are your friends only because you're popular. and when the lyrics say 'she'd love to come help, but the sea will electrocute us' i think it means something like, she can't be friends with him based on who he REALLY is, but what he PRETENDS to be. so basically, faking it to be with the cool people, it isn't reality. it is a dream. |

omg. this song is about abuse! some chick keeps letting this guy abuse her. he's a douche bucket, and she knows it, but she's doing it to herself. she's voluntarily letting a guy fuck with her. radiohead is so deep, it amazes me. and i love this sight. everyone here has different opinions on songs. long live ambiguiety! :D |

god, i am so OBSESSED with radiohead right now. just got ok computer from my library, and i'm stunned. :D anyways, this is about forbidden love. maybe even interracial relationships. young lovers who love each other, even though the fam doesn't approve. but it can apply to any forbidden love scenario. btw, this album is REALLY despressing. but it is almost, somehow, in a weird way, beautifully depressing. thom yorke is a beast. :D |

am i the only one that thinks this is kind of a stalkery-obsessed song? maybe its about something else, but i get out of it somebody who wants to be loved by someone who doesn't love them back, and they WONT GO AWAY. maybe im bein too harsh. hey, that's what ambiguity is all about, and radiohead is the master at ambiguity. they kill that ish. :) |

this song to me seems like the guy is happy with dying. he's happy to drown to death because its better to be in heaven than on earth (which is true.). is it just me or is thom yorke--if that's who writes the lyrics--is fascinated with death or something? this is the 3rd song i've heard from them where they talk about dying and/or suicide. |

omg. this song just made me cry. so depressingly beautiful. kinda like bjork and thom yorke's "i've seen it all." its about someone who lives a socially accepted mediocre life, but the person isn't happy. everything looks good, it looks like its all peaches n cream, but the person is unhappy and wants to die because he hates the monotony of his life. therefore, when he dies, he wants it to be simple. he wants to kill himself so that there are "no surprises." its so beautiful. really listen to it and you'll cry. |

these lyrics stood out to me:
I'm so close to tears (she misses her man a lot)
And so close to Simply calling you up (booty call!)
I'm simply suggesting (she suggests sex)
we go to that hidden place (she wants to go somewhere so they can have sex. "hidden" bcuz of course, u dont have sex out in the open unless ur an exhibitionist) |

i think every black person needs to listen to this song. its inspirational. 'damn colonists. ignore their patronizing. tear off your blindfold. open your eyes.' it could mean we need to stop letting the white man tell us we're stupid and inferior and open our eyes so that we can do what we need to do to be succesful, and we shouldn't let anybody hold us down. that's how I see it. but i like how its ambiguous. i just think it can speak directly to african-americans. |
