| Delain – Invidia Lyrics | 13 years ago |

So, what I know is the Christian symbolism. Perhaps someone can help with the parts I don't get? It seems from some of these lines that the speaker is addressing Jesus: "While you're making wine from water" Jesus first reveals himself as the Son of God by turning water into wine at a wedding "All the heroes in the gutter Finally get their ever after As they lay their final glance Upon your ever shining armor" This is a little more nebulous, the first one was very specific, but it does fit well with what the Bible says is going to happen after death. (The lowly will be exalted, the poor will inherit the Earth, etc.) For the last two lines, I am not quite sure - either the armor is Jesus' which would make sense because we are supposed to meet Jesus after death - or a person in armor is killing the person? I do think the first interpretation makes more sense. What I don't understand is the "outrun me" part and the "grass is greener" part. |

| The Crüxshadows – Perfect Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I think it's odd that everyone seems set on the meaning of this song. When I first heard it, I thought more about an estranged parent/child pair. | |
| The Crüxshadows – Binary Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Okay, I understand this perfectly. The "messenger" refers to Jesus. Christians consider Him both fully human and fully devine, ergo the "binary soul" of "I." Also, humans have both evil and good in their souls, thus, the binary nature of human's souls. The lyrics present the idea that even Jesus did not fully understand what God's message and purpose was while he was fully human (i.e. while he was on Earth with us) because he is limited just as we are by our nature. Also, the lyrics state that "The wounds I bear/have left me humbled/once a child of divinity." Obviously this refers to his crucifixion. |

| Nightwish – Whoever Brings the Night Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Although it seems to be the female who is seductive and eveil here, I see a parallel to Madame Butterfly. Anyone else? | |
| Nightwish – Bye Bye Beautiful Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
"It's not the tree that forsakes the flower , but the flower that forsakes the tree," is a line from Monte Cristo. Obviously, it was "borrowed" by Nightwish and not the other way around. In context, it was used by the Count himself and was in reference to a beautiful young slave who he treated as a daughter and friend, not really romantically. |

sancta sophia means "the path of wisdom," But what does athena sophia mean? |

| Ash – Shining Light Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I guess it could be about romance, but I take it in a more platonic sense. I usually think of a friend of mine that's always been there for me. | |
| Green Day – Wake Me Up When September Ends Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| My first thought when listening to this video was that it was about some of the kids that truly hate school and have a reason for doing so, because of "September," the month kids traditionally return to school. The "seven years" part I assumed was because kindergarton through grade 6 in many schools is elementary and then 7-12 is often a different, larger, more impersonal, more dangerous environment. | |

The spelling is "neutrino." A neutrino is a subatomic particle. It is a WIMP (Weakly Interfering Massive Particle) and has been a candidate for a constituent of dark matter. Bouncing a graviton (theoretical particle which is said to transmit the force of gravity). So "bouncing" or redirecting a previously existing stream of particles would alter gravity fields in the vicinity. Sounds useful to me. gandalfe is correct, the proper spelling is " lamé ." which is actually not a Star Trek universe term. It refers to a jacket primarily made of metallic fibers, for example those used in the sport of fencing. |

| Within Temptation – Frozen Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
When I listened to this song without the video, it didn't really make sense, but when I finally saw the video, the lyrics were much more comprehensible. To me, what the refrain and title of "Frozen" allude to is the mother's (and women's) lack of rights in this setting. She was "frozen" or trapped in this existence and the only way she could end the abuse of her daughter was killing her husband; she had no legal way of defending herself. |
