| Sia – You've Changed Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I agree, Sia is indeed a genius, but she can't take all the credit for this song. You might want to check out the original by Lauren Flax, which featured Sia's vocals. Both similar, yet different beasts of a song - love both versions :) | |
| Sia – Insidiously Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
The second halves of the second and third verses are back-to-front. Mind you mind me I laugh at your transparency You're my new best friend Your fucked up life can I mend Mind you mind me How things can change is a good week Call me ruthless But you stretch the truth oh yes Mind you mind me, you smile so sweetly I'd call you an acquaintance stop with Your exaggeration Mind you mind me I find it interesting to see When I only offer you a smile, oh how You forget to dial |

| This song had me at aluminium/aluminum | |
| Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros – Home Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| "Home" took out #15 on Triple J's Hottest 100 for 2009. That's Australia's biggest music countdown of the year, if you didn't know :) | |
| Van She – Temps Mort Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Why why why? This is an instrumental track! | |
| Van She – Cat & the Eye Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I don't think these lyrics are right, but they are probably pretty close and I doubt the real ones would make any more sense. I always thought it was "float away, with the cat and the eye", not "fall". And I swear its "trial and tradgulation"... except tradgulation isn't a real word! |

| Keane – The Lovers Are Losing Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I believe you are correct | |
| Sia – Beautiful Calm Driving Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| The first bars of the song have a striking resemblance to Hotel California by the Eagles in my opinion :) | |
| Sia – Electric Bird Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I agree with some of sara's points. An electric bird, no tweet, clipped wings. It doesn't matter if it is art and it is beautiful, when it comes down to it is still only an imitation. | |
| Ladyhawke – Dusk Till Dawn Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I'm not sure its that simple. The second verse seems to revolve around monsters and stuff, especially if the filmclip is anything to go by. | |
| Sia – Buttons Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Taken from an interview: "OK, OK, I gotta tell you, I was at the end of the rope! There are four cycles for the process of doing my job; there’s writing, recording, promo and touring, and I was at the end of my writing cycle, which can sometimes, between albums, and in this case, can be up to three years! I was writing with all sorts of different writers and I wasn’t really having any experiences, I was just going into work every day and writing one or two songs a day, like accumulating songs, for me, for other pop stars — 'cos at one point I thought it wasn’t going to happen for me so I should just start writing for other people if I can. So it was like the last session I did, and I had literally nothing, and I was so bored of myself and I hadn’t done anything or had any experiences for like a year, and so I wrote nonsense!" |

| Franz Ferdinand – Michael Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
My name is Michael and I have to say that the first time I heard the song it cracked me up. Couldn't keep a straight face, I was grinning like a mad man. Its such a light hearted song with a catchy beat; will always make me smile. I'm not gay, nor am I great dancer - so it makes a fun mental picture of an alternate 'Michael' - an alternate 'me' as such. Did you know if you play the track at 1/4x speed a message can be heard that subconciously turns people gay? Don't believe me? Try it - it's true! (for the more gullible people, that is an outright fabrication of the truth) I think the point to drive home is that this is intended to be a light hearted song. Don't take it seriously people. |

| The Shins – Phantom Limb Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I can't help but imagine him singing "White goods of the north" =) | |
| Iain Archer – Everything I've Got Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
One of my favourites off Magnetic North, second only to the Canal Song. I think this song is about a relationship that has deteriorated to the point where he is not sure if it can be saved. The first verse seems to me to be about him not caring enough about the girl, not making a big enough effort (never ever count the cost, of not feeling) The second verse is about the girl and her reactions. It reinforces the idea that its the guy who is at fault (You watched me lose it everyday), and then goes on to how the girl is trying to cope with it by trying to make sense of the situation but ultimately can't (you're trying to get things straight and failing), yet she even though it seems pointless to continue, she still hasn't given up on him totally (I don't know where you ever found the hope) The chorus seems simple enough. He's begging for another chance to get things right, but at the same time feels that the relationship may already be broken beyond repair and lost. Two most powerful lines in the song for me... (Nothings ever lost, tell me nothings ever lost) (Say that there's a way, say that you can find a way) |

| Jon Bon Jovi – Learning How To Fall Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| One of the best on the album. I would take it on its face value - its about doing well in life (I was flying through the clouds) and then something goes pear-shaped. But its about learning to live with it, learning how to take your mistakes gracefully and rising up again, stronger. | |
| Iain Archer – Canal Song (End Of Sentence) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| They do now! Its not often a song will strike a chord with me on the first listen, but this song has... does anybody know what the title means - Canal Song (End of Sentence)? | |
