I'm not positive, but the first time I heard it, I thought it was about her wanting to be in a romance where the guy is a writer or an artist, and uses her as his inspiration. "The boys are too refined" so my guess is she's wanting someone more spontaneous. But it doesn't sound like she wants a long relationship, it sounds like she'd rather just have the thrill of sneaking out with a guy. I don't know. That's just what I got. |

At first I thought it was a girl talking about her first love, however, after watching the music video I hear a whole new meaning. I think this song is about an innocent girl who is tempted with money, sex, and vanity, and she knows that all three of them will let her down in the end. |
