| City and Colour – Faithless Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Dallas Green isn't really one for cursing a ton in his songs. I'm pretty sure it's vicious, it does make more sense. And I don't think it's about an eating disorder. I think it's about what he mentions in the first verse; "This lack of faith in myself that's becoming my own personal hell." having faith in yourself and losing it, be it through your own psychological undoing, or having met someone. |

| Sage Francis – I Apologize (feat. Sole) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| halfass lyrics are halfass. Why does this not have Sole's verses? | |
| August Burns Red – Rationalist Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think that's the point. Criticism fail. | |
| August Burns Red – Paradox Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song is so fucking sick. | |
| August Burns Red – Ocean of Apathy Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I'm pretty sure it's "We're sold the science to prove what's impossible" |
| Alexisonfire – Born And Raised Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song is pretty good. I think the meaning is obvious; that being conflict with religion and society, and questioning your faith. "Two hands come together to pray for greater yields Two poles of a compass guided by a field In the mind of every man, two ghosts dance Was this place made, or was it here by chance?" So cleverly written. <3 AOF |
| Sage Francis – Cup Of Tea Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I agree with this, perhaps it's a former perception of himself: "whether or not he's choosing not to tamper with his memory... whether or not he can even fucking remember me." idk... good song, though. |
| Ceremony – I Want to Put This to an End Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I've got problems, I'm a fucked up kid! I find problems, I'm alone again! This song is so fucking epic. |
| As Cities Burn – Into the Sea Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I sort of agree with Salvaveritate about the last line of the song. "Though we don’t ever see you move, slowly the wind turns you to sand in the hands of children on the shore" You never really see mountains move, you don't see them grow or shrink. They're just there. And erosion is a slow process. What I want to know is what the mountain represents, and what that has to do with children, which might represent innocence? Or maybe I'm looking into it too much. |
| Sage Francis – Crumble Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I'm pretty sure it's "ho-hum tourist" not ho-hum taurus. Sage Francis is an Aries. |
| Sage Francis – Hell of a Year Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I love the buddy wakefield bit at the end. "The answer comes in the form of a hand written letter from the moon. It says "this is brutally beautiful. So are we. This is endless. So are we. We can heals this. Signed, Crater Face. P.s...." That poem is absolutely beautiful. ^_^ |
| A Day to Remember – Holdin' It Down for the Underground Lyrics | 17 years ago |
no problem. :) |
| A Day to Remember – I'm Made of Wax, Larry, What are You Made Of? (feat. Mike Hranica) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Am I just retarded or does the line "I’m the answer to no one thought you're so," make no sense at all? I think those lyrics could be wrong? ;( |
| A Day to Remember – Holdin' It Down for the Underground Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think it could possibly be: "Just be warned, I’ll be taking my success with me" |
| A Day to Remember – Have Faith in Me Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song is absolutely amazing. | |
| City and Colour – Happiness by the Kilowatt (Alexisonfire cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
so much passion in his voice. I agree with lyricalrockstar, this song is beautifully tragic. |
| Oceana – Mindless Mindless Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"There's something attractive in a lack of direction" might also be referring to being attracted to someone who's not religious. Religious people often refer to people who don't have faith as "lost sheep" or people who "lack direction[in their life/lives]". I don't necessarily believe that this song is extremely religious, but I don't know. Everyone interprets things different I suppose. |
| Chiodos – Adrienne (Beautiful Blue Eyes) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Actually, you should care about the title of the song. If you downloaded it, then it could be...well, wrong. And google can be wrong as well. The title of a song is almost as important as the song itself. Just sayin' haha |
| Sage Francis – Keep Moving Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Okay, so I found out that it's an excerpt from a poem by buddy wakefield, yet I have no idea what poem it is or where to find it. interesting piece of material though. Suits the song well. |
| Sage Francis – Killing Time Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Scratch that last comment, I'm retarded. I'm hearing this on "keep Moving" Der der |
| Sage Francis – Killing Time Lyrics | 17 years ago |
At the end of this song I hear an excerpt from "we've got work to do" by buddy wakefield. "and I found somethin' here I want ya to have. It ain't much just a story but it's all I've got so take it, here. It's called Dillon. Dillon's drug of choice was more so he took more and more until one day he woke up babbling in a pool of his own traffic jam realizing he is killing off the best parts of himself and claiming he could read people's skin. When he looked down at his heart flap it read "Boy, go find your spine and ride it outta here." If anyone knows where I can find an actual copy of this poem, or song if it is one, please let me know. I'm quite interested in finding it. |
| Sage Francis – Keep Moving Lyrics | 17 years ago |
It might just be because I downloaded it, I know, shame on me But at the very end I also hear "I found something here I want you to have; it's not much, just a story, but it's all I've got so take it, here, it's called Dylan. Dylan, his drug of choice was *more?* So he took more, and more, until one day he woke up babbling in his own traffic jam, realizing, he is killing off the best parts of himself and claiming he could read people's skin. When he looked down at his heart flap it said "Boy, go find your spine and ride it outta here" |
| Sage Francis – Inherited Scars Lyrics | 17 years ago |
He's saying "The Grim Reaper they sew in your trainers say that you're fine" It makes more sense, being as he's using metaphors involving running. |
| City and Colour – The Death of Me Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"Finally, I could hope for a better day. No longer holding onto all the things that cloud my mind. Maybe then the weight of the world wouldn't seem so heavy. But then again I'll probably always feel this way." Anyone who doesn't like this song is the devil. haha |
| City and Colour – The Death of Me Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Yeah, the meaning of this song is quite obvious. And this has to be my favorite song, currently. |
| City and Colour – Sensible Heart Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Has anyone got the studio version? All I've got is this shite live version, which would sound amazing if this douchebag wasn't screaming "YEAHHH!" the whole damn song. I'd appreciate it if you can send it to me; bongs_not_bombs@hotmail.com - msn saruh kills kids - aim |
| Glassjaw – Secret Song Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Maybe the third verse has to do with him being afraid of loving too hard. I'm so confused. D: |
| Glassjaw – Secret Song Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I read somewhere once the seashell is a symbol of St. James the Great, though I'm not religious so I don't see any significance. | |
| Glassjaw – Secret Song Lyrics | 17 years ago |
It's "Fraudulent miracles, make miracles seashells" according to the site. No clue on the meaning of the song, though, it is quite beautiful. It's weird how that works. |
| Sage Francis – Bridle Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I forgot to add I love the "I never thought I'd miss you" part. Anyone have any idea who it is or wth it's from? |
| Sage Francis – Bridle Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think the reins/bridle thing is about the marriage, which is kind of what broccoliandcheese was saying, it's control. Before a woman is married, she's "free", and when she's married she's not, because it's her job "as a woman" to look after him and make sure his needs are met. He but the bridle on her, took control of he, made her his, like a horse. Marriage. But, I think she cheated on him, the entire song sounds like he's chasing her. "He’s dumped, and can’t seem to swallow these lumps The beat goes on…" |

| Sage Francis – Hopeless Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I second negatyve's comment. Sage is pure talent. |
| Sage Francis – Can I Kick It? Lyrics | 17 years ago |
And, I'm almost positive "authects" isn't a word. it's "neva even felt the effects of a strange buzz" |
| Sage Francis – Can I Kick It? Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is so great. Just the way he presents it. It's random, but very chill. :) |
| Chiodos – Pirates and Rebels Lyrics | 17 years ago |
yeah sounds to me like he's saying "you're supposed to recall what brings [us] back together nothing could keep you warmer wear my heart on my sleeve, jabbing these feelings, make me lose control so let's take off the gauntlet, worth this charity We'll hand them in, make sure they were off girls' give you jealousy" and I believe it's "crashing fists of bones grown solid" it'd make more sense. It's about an old fashioned type dual. a gauntlet is a type of medieval armor that protects the hands, and he's talking about a knife in the end. I don't know. these lyrics are horribly off and I can't hear a lot of what he's saying. So I really can't come to a definition...... |
| Sage Francis – Crack Pipes Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I love the delivery. it's so powerful. "Saw the moon, in a way that I've never seen it before. When I looked up that night, into the sky, wondering why, looking for answers. Guess I didn't ask right, I'm guessin' most of y'all out there know exactly what that's like..." |
| Sage Francis – Rewrite Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I can't believe no one has commented this song before. the meaning is obvious. this song is so powerful. I can relate, hardcore. =/ |
| Gregory and the Hawk – Coco Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Scorch: wth are you talking about? haha this is the only song by them I can stand to listen to. :| |
| Brand New – Oh Comely (Neutral Milk Hotel cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Any song Jesse covers should be up here. because he changes up lyrics sometimes, maybe not in this case, but he has been known to cover songs and change the lyrics slightly. And for some reason unknown to man, he can change one word and make the song a million times more meaningful. anyways, yeah. |
| Brand New – Luca (Reprise) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I agree with IEATFOODOKAYGUY. A far-fetched "sleeps with the fishes" referenceis all you've really got other than the title, but that particular part of the song is referring to, from my understanding, the "there's more fish in the sea" saying | |
| Brand New – Fork and Knife Lyrics | 17 years ago |
the () album had no song titles at first, and they were added in later. so maybe it's a reference to that? or maybe I'm just mentally challenged. |
| Brand New – Fork and Knife Lyrics | 17 years ago |
there is no 'v' sound. reparate sounds like it could be it, but, and forgive my ignorance, but it isn't in dictionary.com's thingy, so what does it mean, and if is pronounced repar-ay? because thaaaats what it sounds like to me. could the parenthesis have anything to do with sigur ros? >_> |

| Brand New – Coca-Cola Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think he broke up with someone and crushed her, and she moved on really quickly, and got pregnant, then had a shotgun wedding. "if the patient dies, then take the night off" implying that if shit goes wrong, step back and just look at the situation instead of jumping the gun and moving on so quickly. idk. just my interpretation. *shrugs* |
| Gallows – Abandon Ship Lyrics | 17 years ago |
