| Okkervil River – A Girl In Port Lyrics | 17 years ago |

And before Holly made her way over the sea and far away—she’s telling me, inside her car, driving us back from the Crystal Corner bar—“I lost it there, I fell from health, cut some fresh pieces from myself. And then, for a second, something in me said, ‘leave today. It’s time, Holly.’” That's the lyrics for the Holly verse according to the booklet, which takes a different spin on that verse, I used to think that he/the narrator told Holly "leave today, it's time, Holly." but it seems to be that Holly is recounting saying that to herself? I interpret it along the same lines as percepirme. |

tI does seem like he's depicting a massive destruction of sorts. "where a tiger lies and, cleaning their weapons, they laugh at his useless claws" that idea interests me. It's an interesting song, all in all, and I'm not sure of it's meaning. |

| This is about my favourite song ever. It's hard to place any kind of meaning, but it's just so awesome and lyrically amazing. | |
| Clap Your Hands Say Yeah – Underwater (You and Me) Lyrics | 17 years ago |

To me it kind of sounds like a wedding song. It's basically just the music that gave me that impression, well it takes me awhile to figure out what Alec is actually singing half the time anyway... But, also the use of "we're" repeatedly, and the references to living out there lives, well, under the sea. Not sure exactly what they mean by under the sea, but maybe just that they're similar & as such belong together in a way that they're both destined to live under the sea, which really no one else in this world destined to do. Some maybe it's just establishing a connection between the two people in the song as opposed to the rest of the world who are destined to live on land. There also seems to be an importance to the phrase "You and Me" given it's both in the title and ends the song, which kind of reinforces the idea of a couple or a union of some sorts. Well, that was my line of thinking. Also, Emily Jean Stock always seemed to be an engagement song, and so maybe this would follow that there would be a marriage esque song at the end of the album? |

| Brooke Fraser – C.S. Lewis Song Lyrics | 17 years ago |

It is a beautiful song, like Whirr pointed out, you can kind of take it to mean what you what. I love that about Brooke Fraser's songs. The piano is beautiful, okay the whole song is incredibly beautiful, I know I'm going on a bit but it really is. It makes me want to stand outside at night and stare at the stars and listen to it. |

| Brooke Fraser – Hymn Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| It really is a beautiful song, I know Brooke would have written it in reference to God. But I interpret it differently, Thee = equals a lover, you're true love if you will. | |

Come around for tea Dance me round and round the kitchen By the light of my T.V On the night of the election completely makes me want to do this on the night of the election while listening to this song. |

This is like my anthem. I just figured it was about life getting a little bit overbearing like it does at times. - "And all I want to be is too much Sometimes for me", And all the world to see is too much Sometimes for me but there's someone there and you realise that although it may be life's getting you down, you're gonna make it through. |

This is just an awesome song. We* stop for a moment (isn't it *well*, stop for a moment) And forget the enemy There's a something You're not telling us and We're globalizing But we don't like competition And we still don't know Who the father is is just so true. It kinda feels more like they're trying to overtly be pointed about religion, just in a fun way, just by the vibe of the song. I don't know, I just love it. |
