James Morrison – Love is Hard Lyrics 17 years ago
Kinda straightforward, isn't it? He's warning those lovers in the streets that love may become a lot harder than they think. Young lovers may feel like the best time of their life just started, but eventually it will go wrong and they will see that love can be a bitch.
I really like the final line.

The Kooks – Fa La La Lyrics 17 years ago
Can't believe I'm the first to comment. I love this song, it's so true. He misses his girl, which makes him feel empty as he already says in the song itself. And because of this feeling, he asks himself if he's sane. Actually kinda sounds like something I'd do...

Mumm-ra – Down Down Down Lyrics 17 years ago
Yes, a beautiful song indeed. And it totally reflects on how I'm feeling too. Just can't get her out of my head. Always checking if she's there. She is here, actually. About 20 feet to my left.

Love the song

Mumm-ra – Song B Lyrics 17 years ago
I'd say it's about a break up. She's running away, while he is not the kind that gives up easily. The reference to the girls in magazines? I'd say he means that even though he knows there's plenty of prettier girls, he sticks with his girlfriend. Because he loves her, and he will not give up. He will not walk away. But then all the sudden, she does. He withstood the temptation of walking away, but she didn't. And thus she is a coward in his eyes.

Mumm-ra – Now Or Never Lyrics 17 years ago
Great song. I think it's about love, I'm not sure why, but it sounds to me like one giant "I love you!"
Maybe it's about a guy who's in love with a girl, and he's encouraging her to be optimistic and love him like he loves her. Perhaps she's had her heart broken before, and she's somewhat miserable because of that. But he's more like: "So what? I love you. No reason to be sad, it's now or never. If you've got nothing to loose, why not just go for it?"

Maybe I've got it all wrong, maybe my interpretation has more to do with how I'm feeling than with the actual song. Still, Mumm-Ra is an awesome band!!

The Kooks – One Last Time Lyrics 17 years ago
I'm pretty sure it's "Left school together, went back to my place" instead of "Let's go together, well back to my place". And delete the "it" in the last line. It's just "is".
Beautiful song though, you can really relate to how he's (supposedly) feeling. The whole idea of the world being free when you're still a kid, the idea of life tearing you apart; brilliant. Indeed, a song I would put on if my girlfriend would beak up with me. Sure hope that's not gonna happen though!

You can even relate to it, without ever having experienced a dramatic break up. Just the feeling of how cruel the world can be, how much love can hurt; that's what this song is about.

The Wombats – Kill The Director Lyrics 18 years ago
I heard something about the song being based on a movie too. But the meaning of the lyrics themselves, it's pretty damn beautiful. It's about a teenage boy who is deeply in love with a girl. He's not doing well at winning her heart, and realizes that love is nothing like the romantic comedy's he's seen. Love is hard and painful.

So if he is in a rom-com, someone should kill the director for doing a lousy job. His intelligence and sexual drive are working together, but they can't figure out how to make this girl his. 'Cause after all, women are incomprehensible to us men. And he's a teenage boy who's just started to realize this.

The Wombats – Let's Dance To Joy Division Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is obviously a tribute to Joy Division. If they didn't like them, the Wombats would have ridiculed them. But instead, they refer to them in a respectful manner.
He has found the cure for a broken heart. Accept the painful side of life, embrace the darkness, celebrate your misery. Dance to Joy Division.
"Let the love tear us apart" makes me believe they refer specifically to "Love will tear us apart", a song by Joy Division. And if you get that, if you understand that, this song is beautiful. Almost poetic.

His heart was broken last night, but this time, he figured out how to deal with it. He dances to this pain, in a way. He doesn't care about his own misery any longer. That is his cure. So let the love their us apart, we have a cure for a broken heart anyway. Brilliant.
