I agree with the love/drugs metaphor and the comparison of the effects of both on a person. But it seems to have a negative connotation. The lyrics aren't explicit, so I guess it could go either way - although drugs are generally seen as negative, except to the user. |

| Kill Hannah – Raining All The Time Lyrics

I took it as suicide. The girl couldn't take it anymore, no matter how much she tried, in the end it just kept raining. As for the chorus, she needed him to be there for her, but not necessarily die with her. |

It's not the greatest song out there, but I'll admit it's catchy and infectious. But hey, that's how they make money. Just like pop stars and such; it's not great or well-written, but it attracts ppl like one of those bug-zappers.
And, no I'm not saying Panic are pop stars - I was comparing the song's effect to the effect of pop songs. Don't bombard me w/ comments. :/ |

The Johnny Cash version is okay. The first time I heard him sing it made me laugh.
You guys should check out the Kermit the Frog version. It's even better!! :P
No one sings this song better than Trent though, I love how he almost whispers it and then picks it up for the chorus. Lots of feeling and emotion. |

Don't listen to them if you don't agree with it. They probably have less to rebel against now that they are more successful and as they grow up. Things change - people change. |

Jeez, rabbithowl - harsh much? But, it's true and I agree.
I don't know why ppl frown upon MM so much. If you look past his image, his songs really are meaningful and poignant.
People might actually learn something by listening to his lyrics. |

I don't think it's really about a cat, or if they say it is, they're probably just trying to be funny. I'm betting it's about a girl, because the music that I've heard so far have all been about relationships. |

| AFI – Don't Make Me Ill Lyrics

I don't think the talking in the beginning has too much significance, just something AFI wanted to add. They do it a few times throughout the CD. But, it does mention the CD title, so that's probably where they pulled it from. |

You know, this song had always been my least fave on the CD, but after the whole explanation about AFI touring and such, kinda makes me rethink it. I don't know why, but it changed the whole feeling for the song, imo. Odd. |

The video reminds me of the Beatles. I think Panic should leave the Beatles alone. How about finding their own sound/image? Although...it would definitely back up the drug theory.... |

I love that the accompanying ad is for meeting vampire singles...lmao
It's a follow-up for Y'all... so you could always look up those meanings for an idea. haha Although I don't really follow the literal interpretation of vampires. :) |

I don't think he is falling for her.. he wants to tell her how much he hates her/what she's doing, but instead he just says you amaze me. It amazes him how trashy she can be.
I kinda saw this song from a different perspective. Like maybe a girl likes this guy but he likes another girl and the girl is trashy and the guy doesn't know?
The girl could be saying "she'll be the death of you" to the guy b/c she's trashy. and then the line "she'll be the death of me" could be about how much she hates the girl and wants the guy. ya know? She's jealous and also knows that the gf isn't very good for the guy she likes. |

| AFI – ...But Home Is Nowhere Lyrics

The line "Such revelations while understood by no one" sounds like he is talking about himself (Davey, that is)
His songs are so emotional and personal, but no one except he knows what they truly stand for or what they really mean.
He comes to these revelations of his feelings and thoughts, and shares them with ppl/fans...but they never completely understand the meanings behind them. |

Ugh...I didn't feel like reading all 7 pages, but I did read one of the comments on this page and THANK YOU!!
It's "throes" not "throws"
Oh, and it is all based on individual interpretation - if you want it to be religious, it is religious. If you want it to be about a relationship, then it is about a relationship. Nothing to argue over ppl... :) And no one will ever really know the truth except for Davey...so yeah...just keep that in mind... |

I think that, perhaps, he is talking about his relationship with his fans. So many ppl comment on how much his lyrics mean to them and relate to their feelings and conflicts. It is almost like he is telling them to share their feelings with him. They may feel alone and misunderstood, but he understoods and is listening to them; that they aren't the only ones who feel that way.
The parts about healing and sucking the poison out could mean how the fans feel after listening to AFI's music - they feel better; the music is theraputic (spl?). They do not feel as alone. |

It's a little cliche...just a little... |

hunger pangs would kinda make more sense. The song could be about wanting a girl, either emotionally and/or sexually. On the surface it's pretty sexual. Great song - great band |

I kinda wonder if this song has to do with one (or all) of their past bandmembers that have come and gone - they've had quite a few. I hope they get everything straightened out and keep the current lineup, at least for more than one CD at a time! Jeez... |

He's in love w/ the girl and doesn't want the moment to end. She doesn't realize just how much he loves her. Pretty straightforward. Unless he is being ironic, you know? Like he has really strong feelings for her, but she hurt him anyway?? I hope not...that would totally ruin of the vibe of the song for me. :) I love rock love songs like this. Very sweet. |

Wow, i love that whoever wrote the lyrics put "random screaming gibberish". I have to admit, that's pretty damn funny! lol
Anyway, perhaps he broke up w/ the girl. Or someone did, and she feels hurt and worthless, but he's telling her it isn't her fault and she isn't worthless. Very bittersweet song, imo. |

Religious views don't matter! I'm not religious, but I'm okay w/ Davey writing about it. i imagine it is something he must deal w/. In fact he seems to deal w/ it a lot in his music. But the great thing about AFI's music is that it can have 20 different interpretations; all depends on the listener. You don't get that w/ most musicians today. |
