To me it kind of seems like a song from God to people on Earth. "Flashflood, you got too comfortable So I showed you, who's really in control" Noah and the ark? 'Oh my thank you for keeping me safe' Maybe a prayer? "You never really know what you can't really see I'll be there, I'll be there" You can't see God but he's there I could be totally off base but that's what I got from it. |

anyway i was trying to figure out what she said when she said "you gave me those pearls and i thought they were ugly". i thought it was "pills" and that makes no sense. ahaha. Haha I thought the same thing! I was like birth control pills? or WHAT??? *confused* Pearls makes so much mroe sense. |

| This song is so beautiful. I makes me want to cry every time. I can fully relate to it. I was in a relationship with someone and no matter what I did, I couldn't get anything out of him. Personally I hear it saying: Well I've got friends who (La La Lie) Will help me pull through (La La Lie) The song for a long goodbye I'm coming back I'm coming back to my girl Back to my girl If the song did say that, I would think it meant that his friends are telling him (la la lie) that he's be comming back and that everything would be fine (I'm coming back to my girl by July). This would be the "song for a long goodbye" as in things you tell people to make them feel better when they're going away. Hope that makes sense! |

For the line "This is a hint that you take And you pull and you find a way to get out of what you got yourself into" I always heard it as "This is a HAND that you take." I took it as meaning leaning on someone to help you get out of- depending on someone. |
