Tokyo Police Club – Favourite Food Lyrics | 13 years ago |
The way he sings "cause you know it's sweet getting old" and "some familiar names in tiny print" both kill me. It sounds like he's smiling. |
Jukebox the Ghost – Nobody Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Agh, why does this song not have more comments? It's adorable. Also, it reminds me of Homestuck (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/) with the whole "time is on my side", "let's go home", strange rules of this game", "while you're up in the clouds", etc. Interesting. |
Sleigh Bells – Crown on the Ground Lyrics | 13 years ago |
From looking at the lyrics, it seemed to be about a popular/goody-two-shoes girl ("you love goodness"/"in the spotlight") who wants to let loose, and she's saying it's okay to "se that crown on the ground". I can't really make out the 2nd verse though. |
Jukebox the Ghost – Schizophrenia Lyrics | 13 years ago |
"You could say that I'm well liked but I'll never be friendless... You could say that I'm alright or you could say schizophrenic..." I love belting this out. Basically an awesome song. Why don't these have more comments? |
Jukebox the Ghost – Carrying Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Too charming. |
Jukebox the Ghost – The Stars Lyrics | 13 years ago |
This is my new favorite Jukebox the Ghost song, and definitely the one that matches their first album the most. "I should have known this was coming, yeah, it could not have been more obvious. Like the flood that Noah dreamed about except bigger and more ominous." That part is magical. |
Jukebox the Ghost – Lighting Myself on Fire Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This reminds me of New Moon in major ways. |
Jukebox the Ghost – Beady Eyes on the Horizon Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This song reminds me so much of Girlfriend in a Coma. For reals. |
Jukebox the Ghost – Good Day Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I'm not sure why (possibly because I never knew the real lyrics until now) but this song reminds me of the Chronicles of Narnia. In the last book, (spoilers lolz) pretty much everyone in the series "dead or alive" all come together again and they all just run around ecstatically, never growing old. |
Franz Ferdinand – Lucid Dreams (Album version) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
At first I hated the album version, but it really grew on me. Love love love the new instrumental ending. Reminds me of Fight Club's music almost. |
Regina Spektor – Us Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Sounded to me like a young couple dreaming about when they'd be famous, the world idolizing them, tearing them down, etc. Very sweet. |
Franz Ferdinand – Jacqueline Lyrics | 15 years ago |
That's awesome. |
Franz Ferdinand – 40 Ft. Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I just assumed it was someone literally looking down from a cliff towards the water. Feeling everything put in perspective, being humbled, etc. |
Franz Ferdinand – 40 Ft. Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Ha, I notice a lot of their stuff fits the book. |
Franz Ferdinand – Bite Hard Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This is, honestly, my favorite song on the new album. I didn't interpret it as a physically separated couple. More like a breakup where they try to remain friends. And he's basically calling her a pessimist ("are you happy now that the gods are dying" and describing her broken, bitter smile). |
The Polyphonic Spree – Lithium (Nirvana cover) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Must say, I like this version better than Nirvana's. Like Twizzle said, much darker and wilder... though there's a lot going on in the background, I think it compliments the simple lyrics. |
Flobots – Handlebars Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Oh yeah, this song also reminds me of the Matrix. Especially these lines: Me and my friends understand the future I see the strings that control the systems Hell yeah! |
Flobots – Handlebars Lyrics | 16 years ago |
When I first heard this, I thought, "THIS should be Obama's campaign song!" But then I heard the rest, so... Bush, America, who cares? It could be a statement about almost anything. It's just generally about the abuse of power. |
Franz Ferdinand – The Dark of the Matinee Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Haha yeah I saw the funny teeth thing! |
Otep – Perfectly Flawed Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I've been hearing rumors floating around that this might be used for the TV show Dexter... |
Nine Inch Nails – Every Day Is Exactly the Same Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song was in WANTED! YESSS! It definitely fit with the movie... It did remind me of 1984, and also The Matrix. "I really don't want them to come around"=the agents ...I watched the movie around the time I got the song... |
Sixpence None the Richer – Kiss Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Hehe, I know most of the comments have said this (like a year ago): There are many ways to interpret this. I like to think of it as two people (I don't care who) in love, just that experience of longing and remembering. Just a magical night... |
Jack Johnson – Sleep Through the Static Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song has beautiful, and slightly confusing, lyrics. I think he's kind of being sarcastic, saying, "who really needs happiness and peace?" and saying that other things have replaced that through the media, stereotypes, etc. Maybe I'm just reading too much into it. |
