I think this song might be loosely based on the book of Judges from the Bible. In the book, God appointed a Judge who fought off the enemies and rescued the Hebrews from their wicked ways. But once the Judge died the Hebrews returned to their sinful lives. This same pattern happened over and over throughout the book at least a dozen times. Everytime the Hebrews became wicked again God appointed a Judge, the Judge turned the Hebrews back to God, the Judge died and then the Hebrews went back to sinfulness. Thats what I feel the chorus of this song is talking about. I assumed that thi song was about Steven's heroin addiction, but I didn't know what the second and third verses were about. Thanks guys. I really like this song, and it's gets better everytime I listen to it. It has a different sort of style than most Lips songs, and Wayne's voice sounds awesome. Over time his voice and changed rediculous amounts. Go listen to "Be My Head" and then listen to "The W.A.N.D., you wouldn't evenm it's the same person... haha |

You'd think it would be called "Plastic Jesus." But according to the CD case it IS called "*******" I really like this song, even though I'm not quite sure what it means... Is he angry at religious people because they are so pompous sometimes? |
