you're right. my description is very word/meaning orientated. it's right it could be metaphorical, too.without doubt! but somehow I think that the person who speaks committed suicide.he's so nervous and pitiful... |

| Interpol – Narc Lyrics | 18 years ago |

i have to add something. I hear Oh, all your history's like fired from a busted gun not sure at all. |
|
| Interpol – Narc Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
one idea. "Oh, all your history's like fire from a busted gun" -the girl is talking too much (about her personal stories-nonsense)and fast to distract him and his sexual intent. "I show some love and respect" maybe he's in edge.he wants to reach his aim, to sleep with her.he's proactive and "shows love" with a kiss to stop her talking, but not in a pushy way. |

CORRECTION the first par confuses me a lot. maybe the dead person "says" that.perhaps the person died in this season. centenary of his date of death? so he'll be up,everyone will remind him, cause it's his date. the season fall is a sad season. simple: the trees are LOSING there sheets.the sheets are a part of them.someone LOST a person.not sure about this part. |

a beautiful song! the first time I heard it, a friend's mother died..for me personally there's a wire between life and death. the sing is so mystic. first someone should complete the lyrics. "It's cool (STATIC), and, um, it should be really good to see you, man. Uh, I don't know if I've been away. (STATIC) But uh, I didn't stay long since I just wanted to tell you that it was good to see you, you know? [Good to see you] And uh, it's a shame it didn't work out. But uh, we get together for that little recording, it might've been a good experience. But eh, maybe after the holidays, um. Listen, call me anytime, please. If you're sure you got a really big issue. If you ever need to, just call me, right? Bye. Happy holidays, good luck." I'm german so my english is not that good, but I'll try my best to specify my thoughts. In my interpretation the song is about death. maybe "life" after death, after the funeral. I will still be up by fall I'll still be up by fall either way Still be up by fall I'll be still to hear the call either way the first par confuses me a lot. maybe the dead person "says" that.perhaps the person died in this season. centenary of his date of death? so he'll be up,everyone will remind him, cause it's his date. the season fall is a sad season. simple: the trees are LOSING there sheets.the sheets are a part of them.not sure about this part. Street of thought In all your bones -point:life after death If you're dead,so you have eternal time to think(streets of thougt) about your past life. bones/mortal remains ...when you are dead your body will rotten and then there'll be only bones left. Hold your place and Save your throne when you're dead and you're in your grave you can't move.thus you hold your place. you save your last resting-place/ or better permanent site. it's for the eternity it's kinda your personally place, you're the "king" of that resting-place. king/ throne. with the action of lying there you're saving that from another "enemies" like the kings were saving there kingdom/throne from enemies. Lie awake supine and golden Wait for grace it's describes the situation in the coffin. you're awake because you're waiting for grace. as i before said...it's a thougt about life after death. Sleight of fate And borrowed clothes i think sleight of fate is clear. borrowed clothes...that confuses me a little, Songs of places No one knows symbolic meaning for nescience. no one knows what after death will be.maybe "songs of places" is about the paradise after death like in the bible.songs=music it's a kind of art/creativity--fantasy?"no one knows" there aren't any proofs/the lively people are hoping that they will join pradise after death.the narrrator has not the chance to tell them the truth...the narrator is disapointed about his situation at the moment. Draped in lace we all lean over To greet the great lace is an expensive material.you were poor in your life, it's borrowed from someone. the great are the rich people/people who equaled some status in there life time. you're good dressed to greet them.after death you have no money but you have your clothing. I know my thoughts are really insane. Would be good to read some others interpretations. sorry that my interpretation is mixed up.i'm not content with my writing...I need more synoms and words to describe that, thats really poor.. |
