ha, I was just about to add this lyric, I love this song. I wonder why they never released it as an A-side. but it goes "Mom's in the water, Dad's in the car" I think... and after the first chorus it goes: One shot goes to the mother's womb One shot goes to their HEAD One more DREAM like THAT last night I'm goNNA CRACK a hole in my bed the chorus is a total blur... something about walking on the water, floating... and then something about a cigar... |

| The Flaming Lips – God Walks Among Us Now: Jesus Song No. 6 Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
To Whiffet: If you read the liner notes in the cd version, you'll see Wayne talking about his detachment from his religious teaching around 17. Ten years later, he started to seek out some spirtuality, which is what this whole album, this song in particular is about. I think the baby crying in the beginning sets this up to be one of their best. |

| The Flaming Lips – Slow Nerve Action Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
"She had a cool invisible --- dog who she called Paul" makes me smile every time i hear it. "Now she's got a job --- cause times got hard --- so Paul is gone" is probably one of the saddest lines ever written. This is my favorite song. Not my favorite song off this album, not my favorite song by the Lips, my favorite of all time. |

uhmmm, he did do acid, but he hated it... this song is about both love and drugs and stupidity. |

| The Flaming Lips – Seven Nation Army (Harry Potter and George W. Bush Severed Head Mix) Lyrics | 16 years ago |

.... THIS IS MOVING TO FLORIDA by BUTTHOLE SURFERS! they play it to the tune of seven nation army... ARGH, don't you know anything about music? Here's a little lesson in music history: around the time the flaming lips formed in the 80's, there was this crazzzzy little band called the Butthole Surfers in Texas. Their singer, Gibby Haynes, once wrote a song called Moving to Florida. These are the lyrics to it. Another note: The Butthole Surfers are Wayne Coyne's favorite band. Also, the lips are always political. and they did not screw up seven nation army. It was ok, and they added sirens, and bullhorns, and better lyrics, this is the stripes on steroids. |

| Madonna – Borderline Lyrics | 16 years ago |

outfielder? Listen to the way the song is played, and reread the lyrics. It IS about an orgasm... you're all giving wayyyy too much credit to madonna... she's a pop singer, lyrics aren't the strong side of this genre. |

| The Flaming Lips – Borderline (Madonna cover) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
first of all, since when are covers put in the place of the person who covered them? Also, wayne's interpertation of this (as well as my own)is that this song is about orgasms. The flaming lips applied that to their way of playing this song... as you can see after 4 or so minutes have passed. |

| The Flaming Lips – Oh, My Pregnant Head (Labia in the Sunlight) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
well, with the exception of labia (which can also just mean normal lips... though unlikely), I don't see sexuality here. The flaming lips' lyrics tend to be sort of stream of consciousness, like beck or mercury rev. I don't think they even know what they're own lyrics mean. I haven't a clue what this means. I do know it's one of their best songs. And I do know that I must have jotted down "I just have stumps left for fingers" dozens of times when bored in class. |

| Beck – Think I'm in Love Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| to Shannyown, just because he's married doesn't mean he cant write about past experiences. Also, if you saw the video for this song, which you probably should have if you BOUGHT the album instead of DOWNLOADED the song, you would agree it's pretty obvious this song is about sexual confusion, or curiosity... experimentation maybe, with the same sex... | |
| Deerhoof – The Eyebright Bugler Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| this song i think is about how we prefer certain songs over others without knowing why.. "it's very mechanical" they're saying it's just our nature to like certain songs and dislike others | |
| Deerhoof – Panda Panda Panda Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I think this song is, like most of deerhoof's songs, with no specific meaning... Deerhoof has always been sort of post-ironic, but better... singing about things just because thats what they want to sing about, so songs like Panda, Panda, Panda and Pickup Bear don't have any ACTUAL meaning, they're just random thoughts the band felt like singing about... this is my opinion though |
|
| Deerhoof – Top Tim Rubies Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think this song is about the departure of their previous guitarist from the band (Top Down Jimmy being a kind of alias for Rob Fisk) | |
