I think this is about the "music business", the commercialisation of their music at that time. The rage and anger sold well in the pos-grunge era, that's why he's saying "the world is a vampire sent to drain" or "and what do I get for my pain?", "a piece of the game". Like they get money, fame, etc by exposing they're angnst-ridden attitude or feelings. So he's naked, he exposed his feelings and thoughts like anger, etc and he's being asked to keep faking it or acting "angst-ridden" for just one more show.
So he's disconformed with that, but what can you do in that situation? I just think it's a hard critic to the record companies and the consumers.
