Circa Survive – Get Out Lyrics 15 years ago
This song absolutely is beautiful and reminds me of a royal castle or something crazy and fresh. It reminds me of the first day of Spring. "Don't underestimate the daylight" Definitely could represent the winter having such short days, and now that it's spring and the day is longer, never underestimate that. I feel like this song is a representation of their album. If you don't like this song, you may not like this album, which I find impossible to believe. Hopefully I really have a good day on 4/20! gonna be the best experience ever. I'm gonna listen to this album with some homies and chill out. Blast it super loud! haha

Circa Survive – Frozen Creek Lyrics 16 years ago
I'll be open on the internet. I definitely cried pretty hard when I saw this on youtube. The way it sounded and the way Anthony sung it I felt really sad after hearing it. It was so beautiful though. I like it so much. It's just having that lost hope and everything. It's so beautiful and natural sounding. I can't wait for the new album. I really can't.

Circa Survive – Frozen Creek Lyrics 16 years ago
I don't know what it means but I just listened to it and randomly broke out crying. I guess it's supposed to be a sad song... I guess it's about false hope, like "I open both of my eyes Still see an empty place, so empty But if I keep them closed And there's still a chance, that something is out there"

I guess that might be what it's about. but when in doubt, go with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind...

The Doors – The End Lyrics 16 years ago
I read the Oedipus trilogy, and I happened to have gotten the album "The Doors" and listened to this song and realized, oh hey, there's a big connection there between the two things, but even more than that, Jim Morrison is talking about a shift in consciousness. Drugs, change, psychedelic shit, just changing the way we think through drugs, The End of the World as we know it... 2012... Maybe. But I have no friggen clue. I'm just as clueless as you probably are lol. but that's my guess.

On the CD The Doors, by The Doors, there's a part where it says that over and over. I know it did too.

Bring Me the Horizon – Chelsea Smile Lyrics 16 years ago
Where do I start. It's about something he did that hurt someone, or perhaps hurt both him and someone else in a big way. It was something he did, like a Chelsea smile, but it wasn't visible to anyone else. I couldn't be specific about it, but well, He obviously wanted you to know about him having a secret, but won't tell you. It's a tease... like the Chelsea smile. There we have it...

NOOO WAY MAN! that part is so fucking good. it makes the song so much better. I didn't like the music video as much just because of that.

I Am Ghost – Don't Wake Up Lyrics 16 years ago
It makes me never want to wake up... I just think it means that a girl dies or a guy is dying and tells the girl, don't wake up, let this reality be in your mind... We will be together there... Something like that.
He's like "hold me and drown" Die with me... A soul mate's way of being together forever. bing... I got it lol. I think that's it...

Circa Survive – The Great Golden Baby Lyrics 16 years ago
make your move - sounds like chess.
obvious humor - being stoned maybe
always on and dressed to impressed - feels like someone at school who tries to have a good rep

oh now that I know this changes everything - learning 1 or 2 things that changes your view on someone or something.

Honest solution to all your pride- Girls and their egos lol. nah, just like cockiness and having a perfect image and a big rep

Now that I know this changes everything - Sometimes for the worse or the better, but knowing something that shouldn't be known, or that people don't want other people to know can be important and even lifesaving sometimes.

To me, this song is about finding a flaw in something people think is perfect, and then hating it so much that "you pull the thread" and completely abandon it.

Sorta like ant with Saosin, but who knows, I don't think he hates them, just that he wants to be on his own. they do want to have a huge popular name though... so idk

Circa Survive – In Fear and Faith Lyrics 16 years ago

Is it me, or is Circa Survive's music so much more intense during the winter months as opposed to the summer? - just my opion, but wow, I think that's the truth, This song has to do with a stale situation where you need to get out of it. it's moving on from the past, and starting the cycle over. They won't let go... that's interesting. It's too late, so you leave through the front door. I don't know what it means, but it's almost like the cover image, and quite literally, leaving a bad party, or something like that. I've been at my fair share of parties, and the bad ones, it's like you never even wanted to go, and you especially don't want to remember it. the end is great. It's that start stop and go you've been dying for. and in the acoustic version, Ant sings "but you're already dead" which idk what that means, but I'd guess it has to do with a deeper meaning, of perhaps a believe system, or some kind of vision. perhaps this song is about someone in a coma, who knows. It's just a very good well written song.

One of my favorites of this album. Very peaceful song, yet eerie.

Circa Survive – The Glorious Nosebleed Lyrics 16 years ago
I'm gonna go deep into this song and try to support how it is related to 9/11 because I saw many people say that and I most likely can say I do agree with that.

Forced, we forced feeding you lines, feeding you. - this has to do with maybe the news and the media telling terrorists what to say, or even just the anchors of the news stations what to say about it.

Look how high I'm jumping from, you'll never make it.- Look how high [I'M] Jumping from, [YOU]'ll never make it. this is a very interesting line, I don't know I could say anything about it right now though.

I know what it feels like
giving into something you don't understand- giving into the new policies of the government because of something that they let happen. They are now containing people who ever make any kind of threat, even if it is minimal or just as a joke. (Someone got 90 days in prison for saying they'd assassanate obama even though it was a joke recently. )

Walk into the light, Almost like a request to someone who has done something wrong, or is accused.
giving into something you don't understand. again with the government or any kind of weird thing going on
This sort of thing gets you out of mind right before...
This sort of thing gets you out of mind right before impact. Definitely has to do with jumping from our levels of trust and security and completely guarding ourselves in.

Ok, I have to conclude that I don't know what it's about, but the title has to do with a height, and the jump and the fact that it's either cold up there, or someone is completely stressed out or something. OHHHH The glorious revolution, the glorious nosebleed. it has to do with a revolution, which the government probably set out to do against the people. ok idk, you decide on what you think it means, this is what I think for now.

Circa Survive – Wish Resign Lyrics 16 years ago
feels like it has to do with the birth mother being a fuck up, and the kid lives with another family or at least the father and a new mother, and the birth mother is a bad influence or something. That's why you never mention my name to them seems like it's coming from the birth mother saying, you don't even tell the truth saying this isn't your son - to the midwife- and that they just say the child is their son or daughter with out even bothering to say because nobody wants to know the person who is the mother. What brought you back to this place might be an arguement or some kind of reconciliation of some kind. ok that's all for now

Circa Survive – Holding Someone's Hair Back Lyrics 16 years ago
[I'm doing this while listening to the song, and I'm only listening to the song once, because I'm doing this with every song on the album, so I'll tell you what I think, and then that's it.]
The start is the same as the end of the album that's the first note I'd like to take,
second, "don't say a word, don't be grateful..." maybe that means sit back and listen to the album, let them do the work.

there's a lot going on here though, all the lyrics are a build up, and then it goes to "turn away your head" I think it's a good imagery of a build up and then just vomiting something out, which would be that chorus there.
Still, the song is a lot and there's a lot there. Maybe it's about expecting too much, just because he's like, what do I deserve what do I deserve instead?

never mind, then again, Hotels are a place for having parties, and well, the song has to do with vomiting, so I rest my case as follows, I don't really know, but it must have to do with something along the lines of being too fucked up and people remembering it but not you. Plus, it might have a more direct meaning with someone's personal experience, either Anthony's or someone elses in the band.

I know many people think the Accommodations part has to do with a hotel, but I think it has to do with either personal information involved with money, kinda like paying taxes, or something like that. They're robbing you and scamming you and they say they offer nothing but the best accommodations, but are truly lying.

Circa Survive – Act Appalled Lyrics 16 years ago
Ok, so I'm gonna do this for every Circa song... I'll listen to the song and tell you what I think when I hear it. ok
=====
So, the start, feels almost like how a big wave can crush someone and they can be caught in the tide.

The center might be referring to the center of gravity, or the center of any situation to try to solve the problem perhaps...

[oh and btw, there is no meaning that is written in stone, and if there was there wouldn't be this site, so be happy we can read each other's opinions.]

"What made you so scared? Maybe you're mistake for someone who cares"

Maybe that's asking a stranger for advice and how sometimes they'll tell you you're crazy and to ask someone else.
It sorta shows how cold people can be.

(I think the main theme of this song is trust and how trust can be lost)
for now at least...

Patience... that part, I think it's showing how cliche' life can be, and how the things in life we all see and know are consistently being repeated. The last thing I want to say is that, this song probably mostly has to do with the nature of people, and how getting back to the center might be getting back to the equilibrium of finding peace, and maintaining understanding in people's lives because of how untrustworthy people are today.

The last chord and the ending guitar part is really cool how it sorta floats there.

Ok, that's it, thanks for reading, check my other ones I'll be posting ont he rest of the songs in this album and the On Letting Go album songs.

Peace,

Mike

M83 – Lower Your Eyelids to Die with the Sun Lyrics 16 years ago
I can't believe no one has commented this beautiful masterpiece of a song. It is an absolutely calming and hallelujah type song that makes you happy and be able to deeply breathe in all the fresh air. It feels like it represents coming to one with nature and growing closer to your own soul among other souls. I can't really describe it and there's not really any lyrics. This is a great song to listen to when doing yoga, or any peaceful personal activity like that.

Circa Survive – On Letting Go Lyrics 16 years ago
I partially agree, but it's humans pushing their beliefs on other humans that is the whole point this song is making. It's unjust and corrupt, and God or not, we exist, and if you are reading this you can understand that and even ponder about it, and well, what ever the case, we need to make the most out of our existences

Circa Survive – On Letting Go Lyrics 16 years ago
The title speaks for itself. I think this song has to do with our need for materialistic and idolized tangibles, and the whole point of this song is to realize that these things are worthless, and the things worth most are things that we can’t see, or touch. God isn’t in a church. If there is a God, it’s inside of you, and the fact that the Churches stand, but seem to not do anything only makes us more separated. “Are we even now? We are unrelated” It’s like all of the wars fought, they were over religious and political things like oil, and fighting to make people think the way you think, as missionaries do. Basically this song connects with the hot air balloon girl on the cover, and it has to do with the main point of Circa Survive’s intentions. They want people to realize we are all human and we are all the same and separating ourselves into cultures and communities makes us segregated when we don’t have to be and most certainly shouldn’t be. I mean, this is just my interpretation, and I think it makes a lot of sense. If you agree give me a plus rating so more people can read this.
Thanks for listening to my opinion, if you want to see other things I have connected with Circa’s messages, check out Terence Mckenna’s videos on youtube, especially culture is your operating system, and check out Bill Hicks on youtube, and David Icke.
Thanks again,
Mike - mikeskatesnj@aol.com

oh, and it's 100% definitely scuttle. look at this definition. n. 1. (Com.) The weight when the tare has been deducted, and tret is yet to be allowed.
v. i. 1. To act as sutler; to supply provisions and other articles to troops.

yea, our government and the way people think now, we are trapped into walls, and we never change, we only put things on what we think exist, and move on thinking this way the whole time, with out ever exploring what's either outside of these walls, or under, or even above the place in which they are being contained with these walls. ok i'm done now. it's a great song though. good stuff

Enter Shikari – Acid Nation Lyrics 16 years ago
Our country is an acid nation because we pollute so much, and because we're so damn impure now. Look at everything. We aren't near natural, or at least our civilization doesn't like keeping anything natural anymore. Like why is weed illegal when man-made drugs are? my point exactly. Clear out the water with acid my friends. Hindrance means to be blocked or delayed, so maybe it has to do with our delay in being so late with realizing all of this. That's my personal view

Enter Shikari – Common Dreads Lyrics 16 years ago
I agree with businessiswar. It's sad, and extremely scary. I go to school every day feeling like crap and knowing it's bullshit. I hate work, and I'm never getting a job. I'm going to convince so many people I know to be free that the whole world will soon be freed. We all just need to awaken. Enter Shikari did an amazing job at creating a CD with valuable lyrics and deeper meanings than a fucking lame ass joans brothers cd.

The true meaning of this common dreads song, is well, the title obviously, that we all can work together when we hate something together. We go to war with a country because we're told to hate them. Well, the part "This normality is madness" is the most important point of the song to me, just because how they said it, and it's true. We think our society is normal. We're wearing cotton all over our bodies for goodness sake. and not because we're cold. We hardly have emotions like we should have. It's turning into a cold scary world. Most importantly, don't listen to your government ever. Always have skeptisism with everything you deal with

The Devil Wears Prada – Hey John, What's Your Name Again? Lyrics 18 years ago
ok, so i read this book in my school, and it was called the ones who walk away from omelas, which was a variation of another story that was written by william james. heres a link if you are interested in reading it

http://harelbarzilai.org/words/omelas.txt

any way. i had to write a 5 paragraph essay on this book for my school, and i happened to be on myspace listening to the devil wears prada, lol, and obviously, this song was unclear to me, so i looked up the lyrics. i noticed that all of the lyrics 100% related to the story i had read. the story made it clear to me times 1000. this song to me is about

"the concept of fashion is the one to blame: painting the portrait of conviction-less existence."
this part sums up to me that god created us and we created our own fashion, and i guess that the fashion is pretty much non existent we need our own individuality. like maybe the people that follow the cliche are less existent compared to the stronger people who follow theyre own selves

"well, it must be difficult being so gorgeous."
the people that are fake have it easy because they are copying some one else being the same ,, there is no normal, no perfect. its only a state of mind

"claiming to be the kings and queens but it's all of nothing.
this shall pass."
so this means that it doesnt matter who owned what, who did what, because we cant let other people take control of our lives, because the kings and queens ( all of them since the beginning of time) werent the ones chosen by god. theres really no way to be chosen by god, if you all believe in him, he wouldnt only chose one person. this means that the people were the choosers of there own kings and queens, not god.

"megalomania."
look it up on wikepedia, it will clear things up for you
"congratulations on mutiliation for a life."
if you took the time to read the ones who walk away from omelas, theres a kid, (note the unknown gender) and the child is there, just because the people were so obsessed with being "perfect" and living the perfect lives. they took the lives of the others just to live their own selfish perfect lives, thus pretending to be the kings and queens.

"i'm going to hope for you, i'm going to pray for you amongst the wreckless and the black.
salvation lies within."
in my opinion, this means, ( reffering to the ones who walk away from omelas) the people who left omelas ran for a reason. they knew they couldnt change the religion or opinions of the others living with them and the only thing they could do was leave and start off on their own (LIKE THE PILGRIMS and puritans i guess) and since some people are stubborn, there's just no use.
the second sentence means that the times were bad, harsh and difficult, but honestly, if you just wait it out, and believe , you can get through it. just dont give up in your faith

"my time is your's my friend.
i think its saying Jesus Christ will always listen to you, and always help you, no matter what.

"we all find ourselves so horribly weak."
i think this means that the people notice everything after seeing the child, they see how bad they are, and how lucky they are, and that they should have appreciated what they had, that they should have believed, followed them selves, and live your own life, because you only have one life to live, and if you miss it, you find out how horribly weak you were your whole life

"(Oh God,) here's an offering."

the people who see the child living in the dark ( just as an example, from the story,, it could be anything)
know what they have to do, and since they are supposed to leave the child an offering and can, they do, and they see the child, and the child cant see them, and the child has no faith, but its not the child's fault its the peoples faults.

basically this song means a lot to the society of today, and i learned so much about a lot of things from this song and i actually kinda now live by the morals of the song after knowing what it meant. this is an amazing song and i love the break down at the end. thats about it. thanks so much for reading and i hope you learned something from me
