| I always felt the song was about suicide. The song starts off describing the lives of these different people that are all planning to kill themselves for one reason or another. "I need a fix cause I'm going down" could be a drug reference but it still ties in. Either getting a fix (of drugs) to try to fix their lives or to kill themselves with. Or a fix as in a fix for their situation. They need a fix cause "I'm going down". And "happiness is a warm gun" because they've finally escaped, they've just shot themselves. The gun comforts them when they "hold you in my arms" because they know the pain is almost over. And the 'bang bang shoot shoot" in the background is the sound of their firing guns. | |

i think this song is talking about a fight two people are having. They are fighting becasue she lied to cover up who she really is. She started things on a lie, and now there are so many that she has a wall to hide behind, and just wants someone to come rescue her. "found this place to hide/come seek me" Then she's saying that some of the lies were to cover up insecurities, and it's torturing her to have all the lies there making her go insane. The lies are making her "build a bomb" thats going to explode and ruin the relationship. Then the fight starts and she's still trying to cover up her insecurities with her lies to comfort herself. She is just thinking about admitting the insecurities and it's making her "on the verge of tears again" "I'm just a normal person Without those problems When did it change?" Admissions so embarrassing I'm on the verge of tears again" Then she reveals her lies, and it comes out hysterically because its so full of emotion, and i think the "my big courageous move" line is supposed to be sarcastic, because she really didn't mean to admit everything in a fit of hysteria. On the chorus she telling herself not to be suprised that her house of cards fell, because the lies couldn't last... "Don't gasp at the predictable A comforting lie can't last " ...and now everything feels weird because she realizes that this fight is part of what every couple goes through and it's cliche of them to do this to themselves... "Preordained checklist of this awkward love It's so sad" ...shes telling him to sort the lies out for himself, then changes her mind and is saying give it back, just forget any of it ever happened, just give up on sorting it out... "Sort it, sort it out Just give it back No thank you Toss it, toss it away Eliminate Just give up" ...and ends saying that she can't decide if this is worth working out or not, but this push and pull going on is wearing her out... | this song's meaning is pretty easy to get from the lyrics. She always knew they wern't good for each other, but she tried to change him and herself becasue she really wanted things to work. She goes on to say she should think before she starts a relationship next time "i'm another ex-girlfriend on your list/but i should have thought of that before we kissed" it ends with her saying that she is still going to have those feelings when she sees him, and it's going to be tough to see him move on without her. i think she saying no one understands her, so "i guess I'll get over it" that when she's around all the people suppressing her all the time she feels cramped, but when she's alone, she can be who she wants without all the pressure i think everyone can relate to this song on some level...who doesn't like hiding from the world in their room all alone? |

i think it's saying that she realized that this whole time she hasn't really been as in love as she thought, but she's so tied up in the relationship she feels forced to continue with her false feelings. And she feels guilty about treating him that way because "you really deserve love/i want to love you" she wants to love him but can't, and wants to convince herself to do something about it, but feels too guilty to do anything. It's like she's realizing that she doesn't love him, but can't bring herself to end things so just keeps going and "faking I love you's" |

this song is about someone so deeply in love that they feel addicted to that person. "You see it's hard to face The addict that's inside of me I want to fill my glass up With you constantly" But they know that they have to end it because their relationship has become one sided... "I open up, you ignore me Oh you're not the same at all no And if I turn back The pages of time I'd rewrite your point of view uh huh" ...and they can see that their fairytale romance they imagined isn't happening, so they need to end things before they hate each other.... "You see in the past I had a dream A fantasy ... And it's my gut feeling It's not happening for me, so... Let's end it on this Give me one more kiss " And it ends with the person saying they can't have any more chances to make it work because it obviuosly isn't if they have already put in all this work and it hasn't worked yet...
