| Alkaline Trio – Good Fucking Bye Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I think this song is about quitting a job that you hate! Read the chorus and put it into perspective... I'm tired of being bored; I'm through with the headaches and hiding my hands that tremble like earthquakes under the table, under the day time sky. Good fucking bye. I dislike my job and the chorus describes it so perfectly. I'm sick of being bored, my head hurts after some days, trembling from exhaustion/anger sometimes, paid under the table though. Day time job. A shitty one. Good fucking bye. |

| I actually ended up reading the book A Clockwork Orange because of this song. Now I have raised more questions to behaviors of humanity, and this song makes a little more sense now :) | |

There's something green that's leaving town, always thought it was blue, always knew I was wrong There's something blue that's leaving town, always talked about black, we're considering brown. There's something gray that's leaving town, it's way beyond me how it gets off the ground. ^^ some subject(s) of the lyrics leaving "town" And what they say of the grass on the other side's true. Too much time looking up's turning everything blue. ^^ the grass is greener on the otherside...keep your head up high It sounds like it's a place that really isn't that great at all. Maybe a horrible town or bad memories of one |

| This song is about just doing whatever makes you happy | |
| Alkaline Trio – Piss And Vinegar Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| If you look at the booklet of the lyrics that comes with the CD and look at the picture next to the lyrics for Eating Me Alive, you can see that the head unit of Dan's amp seems to be the brand name Orange...maybe that has something to do with the line in the chorus... | |

| I'm not such a fan of punk rock, but the way the Trio does it is just really awesome. The flow of it and the energy...they just do it differently than everybody else and I really like it | |

Don't leave just yet quite on the set, lets give this one more go -- dont end this right now with the way things are, lets give it another try make ourselves ill, popping sugar pills, will swallow nice and slow -- sugar pills provide for that incredible placebo effect where the treatment is not helping physically at all, but the patient thinks it's working dont leave just yet, we've just had a wreck, i'll need your name and phone -- this has been quite an accident and i'd like to patch things up and water for these slow dying trees where gardens used to grow -- we used to have something so great but now it's dying. we can bring it back to life my thoughts on what the chorus is saying. i love this song so much. i just cant describe how i feel about it any other way |

| hmmm it sounds like he was in a very dull relationship and he thought or tried to convince himself he was happy, then when she left he realized he was a lot happier by himself. | |
| Alkaline Trio – Blackout Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| the "light" of the right hand path religions is too bright that anything you can see sin and corrupt. the left hand path religion, or the "darkness" (only called the dark forces because no religion has ever brought them into the light) is pure. there is nothing to make it wrong | |

| quoted from the booklet in the album "remains" from dan "it's about just doing what makes you happy" which is what satanism is about. self indulgence | |

| Alkaline Trio – All On Black Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
"What's black and white? What's read all over? This tired book This organ donar" it's about a book, i would say the satanic bible. black and white text/explained black and white. he's read it through and given his heart to it (organ donar) "Whats upside down? Whats coated in silver? This crucifix is My four-leaf clover" I'm not sure what meaning the inverted cross has in satanism other than basically going against everything about christianity which is in a sense what satanism does "I put it all on black No color you're all dressed in" all black (and the traditional pentagram) is what you wear during a satanic ritual "I put em all in black the four walls of my bedroom i trimmed them in red peeled your picture off the wall" the ritual chamber must be entirely black and you must have some kind of imagery or description, something very detailed about what you want to achieve through your magic One of these days (one of these days) it's gonna catch up to you Throwing looks like those around One of these nights (one of these nights) I promise to you I'll soon be sleeping sound, as soon as I leave town all in all, with GREAT support from that final verse, it sounds like he's performing a satanic ritual against an enemy...he wants them humiliated beyond belief, or even destroyed and he'll be sleeping happily when that happens |

I like to make the chorus relate to my life in some ways and thats what really moves me about it and why i love it so much. i grew up with my parents drinking and fighting nonstop and my siblings were my sworn enemies and all i ever wanted to do was just run far far away and thats kind of how the chorus ties into that. Run for cover as fast as you can Where fighters are lovers, enemies are friends |

| Heavens – True Hate Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| sounds like something about war...cant think of anything really specific right now...maybe troops jumping out of a plane into combat and confessing at a church or something? | |

woops- forgot to interpret a line haha a slow ticket straight out of town- the sun does travel across the sky quite slowly...i dont know how else to fit that in with the rest of the final lines |

this is one of my all time favorite songs of any band out there. the verses seem as though they are talking of someone commiting suicide, but the chorus and the final stanza can be generalized to someone you love leaving you forever, maybe even traveling to the other side of the earth? we watched the sun fall crown- this person was the sun, and she sets on his horizon to rise on someone else's on a city that sleeps in a world upside down- in a world upside down means the other side of the earth, or at least beneath the horizon, when its night time and everyone over there is asleep you went out with a bang when you took with you all my dreams under ground- self explanatory...under ground could be related to the sun going below the horizon |

this song keeps me scratching my head. i dont really think it's about suicide, but i can definitely see how it can relate to it. but i just think there's some other meaning to it that you need references to find out what it is. "there's something green that's leaving town, always thought it was blue.." i dont understand that. "theres something blue thats leaving town, always talked about black.." i dont get that one either, but at the end "there's something gray...it's way beyond me how it gets off the ground" refers to an airplane taking off, obviously because of the reference to the pilots right at the end of the song. i dont know, maybe he's just bored with where he is and what he's doing and wants to kill it and have a fresh new start |

eh, i don't think it's about death or living or somebody hurting somebody else at all. i think it's about this person that means so much to him, but they are going away and he'll never see them again, and that really just sucks. "and go underground, or up towards the sky"-- where ever that person might be heading to and "at least we're still friends, at least we're still alive"--that part i can split in two. he means no matter what they'll always be friends, and "at least we're still alive" means that hey, things could be a hell of a lot worse than this. this has always been one of my favorites and always will be |
