The night is falling, thank God
I hear the calling of the skeletons under the sun
The skeletons under the sun
The day is dying, big smile
Pose through the camera, a giant step for your kind
One of a kind
Don't leave just yet
Quiet on the set
Let's give this one more go
Make ourselves ill, poppin' sugar pills
Will swallow nice and slow
Don't leave just yet
We've just had a wreck
I'll need your name and phone
And water for these slow-dying trees
Where gardens used to grow
The sky is falling, straight down
It's come to crush us and leave us in our blood to drown
Barely making sound
The streets are painted so still
Can hear the breathing, the making sense of the spill
Enough to make you wanna kill
Don't leave just yet
Quiet on the set
Let's give this one more go
And make ourselves ill poppin' sugar pills
Will swallow nice and slow
Don't leave just yet
We've just had a wreck
I'll need your name and phone
And water for these slow-dying trees
Where gardens used to grow
Don't leave just yet
Quiet on the set
Let's give this one more go
And make ourselves ill poppin' sugar pills
Will swallow nice and slow
Don't leave just yet
We've just had a wreck
I'll need your name and phone
And water for these slow-dying trees

this might be one of the best songs skiba has ever written lyrically. I love how dark it is.
Alright, I changed my mind about Watching You being my favorite song on Patent Pending. This definitely tops it. I love Matt Skiba. A lot. Yeah yeah, I know that isn't an interpretation, but it's going to take me awhile to get over the awe of how great all these songs sound before I attempt to analyze what is really meant by them.
Besides, plenty of it doesn't even need explaining.
The night is falling, thank God.
The day is dying, big smile.
Don't leave just yet.
So bangin'.
If you're reading this comment and you don't own the CD, get up off of your ass and get that disc immediately. I don't see how you could be sorry.
I love singing this song
This song doesn't have nearly enough comments. One of my absolute favorite songs for singing at the top of my lungs in the car.
Don't leave just yet quite on the set, lets give this one more go -- dont end this right now with the way things are, lets give it another try
make ourselves ill, popping sugar pills, will swallow nice and slow -- sugar pills provide for that incredible placebo effect where the treatment is not helping physically at all, but the patient thinks it's working
dont leave just yet, we've just had a wreck, i'll need your name and phone -- this has been quite an accident and i'd like to patch things up
and water for these slow dying trees where gardens used to grow -- we used to have something so great but now it's dying. we can bring it back to life
my thoughts on what the chorus is saying. i love this song so much. i just cant describe how i feel about it any other way
I think this song is about a chance encounter with someone who he becomes infatuated with.
And water for these slow-dying trees Where gardens used to grow from what I understand; he hasn't felt emotions like this for someone, hence, where gardens used to grow.
and Don't leave just yet We've just had a wreck the "wreck" means instant attraction to me.
And...that's as good as I can do! haha
