I agree with pretty much everything that has been said so far. To add to it, for the intial 'someone is waiting to swallow all the halos out of you' line seems to mean that he wants to reduce the subject to his lowly and inferior postion. She is perfect, but he can't hope to be with her until he swallows all of her halos. |

JAKIE THE HOBO - You're right, it doesen't sound like Jeff. A lot of the early songs, as well as the Everthing Is songs have that singing voice. I'm unsure if it actually is Jeff or someone else though.

First of all, I love the way Flux=Rad segways into this. The song is so atmospheric and it really just creates this mellow spaced-out mood (in great contrast to Flux=Rad). The lyrics themselves could really be about anything which is true with a lot of Pavement songs. I'd interpet it as being about rebellion that is ultimatley futile and pointless. |

"How long can I stiring you along, how little of myself can I give, and still make you believe I care?" is such an amazing line. Perfectly sums up how you feel in your youth and not caring about who you hurt or how your actions affect people. |
