It's so easy to just stay in a relationship waiting for it to get better, not leaving because any day now it will work out. But that line, it's saying that life is so short and if I died today, would it have been enough. | |

I love this song, it is so beautiful. I never even picked up on the meanings anyone else said- I always thought of it in the context of "Closer" which is where I first heard it, and in my own life. So I guess I'll tell about that context... I met a boy who I couldn't have, and even when we started falling in love we knew that it couldn't happen. He was taken, I was taken, anyway... Saying goodbye he told me he knew that I would have an amazing life. "And so it is, just like you said it would be, life goes easy on me most of the time". Life didn't suck, but after knowing what life could be it was just easy, no emotions anymore. The shorter story. No love, no glory. No hero in (her)skies. And I couldn't take my mind/eyes off him. lol Not, at least, untl I moved on and found someone to make me forget him. I guess I only ever think of songs in my life, not in the lfe of the artist. But that's what it meant to me. |
