I think i am influenced by the video for this song in what its true meaning is. But as most of the meds album refers to drugs, i believe this does too. How the child is looking after his parent (who is on drugs), the child growing up fast for his father, trying to save him and getting it thrown back in his face. Some of it being obscene like signing papers to get his dad put in a hospital, driving a car, yet i dont think this is actual, more metaphorical. I and im sure alot of others, can relate to this. I dont think every song has to be about a relationship to a lover, a boyfriend/girlfriend, or friend as parents influence our lives as drastically as any of the fore mentioned. |

I dont know if anyone else agrees, but when i listen to this song i dont think about lovers, i think about a parent-child relationship. To me this is about me and my dad, how i feel about him. How when i was in my teens i was probaly a awful daughter yet hes stood next to me all the way. And how the tables turn, how when you get older you are more aware of his feelings and try and help him out how he has you. For instance, when she switches between them driving her home and her driving them home, now i am old enough to pick him up in a drunken mess as he did when i was younger. Well, thats my interpretation. |

Samson & Delilah are from the Old Testament. Samson has fallen in love with Delilah, he tells her the secret of his great strength: his uncut hair after she constantly pesters him for his secret, he tells her loads of fake ones, she tries them all out but when she gets a slave to cut his hair off, he loses his powers, is imprisoned by the Philistines (who induced Delilah with money to find out the secret), God leaves him and he is tortured, having his eyes burnt out and is then blind. Its quite a tragic story as is this song. This song sounds a bit like revenge & anger which Samson undoubtly feels? |

I think that shirley manson actually wrote this about an abusive household between a couple. The instumental part screams desperation not happiness or content, like trying to escape, going slowly into a state of frustration. Shes never wanted to run out before, the skys changing yet outside is still singing, at first she finds relief, but now she wants her God and to just end it. Shes laying herself out for abuse, but shes never wished it upon anyone else so doesnt understand why shes receiving it. Now her happy home has turnt into creeping around her lover, moving in time to try and prevent doing anything wrong. Then she talks about the shame she has left from her once happy home and finally returns to wanting to run away. I still have the other meaning which makes it link personally to me, but i think this is what shirley was trying to get through. Most songs on this album have some sort of abusive meaning behind them to me. |

Personally this song to me has a meaning of how my childhood home was destroyed by my parents going through a break up which dragged on for years and there being awkwardness in the house. I only found happiness out of the house, especially with my boyfriend ("in my lover arms i find relief"). & how she states she never meant anyone harm, i think when you go through the sort of awkward situation of parents divorce you're sort of forced to take sides and can hurt the other parent and dont mean to. But yes, that's what this means for me anyway. |

I uploaded these lyrics the other day, though when she sings the first two lines (Back porch with on moonlight, like sicko kisses) it doesnt sound like its right listening to it, but everyone says they are correct. Also, i think the first vocalist sung this song, not Agent M. I cant find it on any albums or EPs so im guessing it was one of the earliest recordings as the quality of the recording isnt amazing...
