I think Plark is right. This song is about a guy missing a girl he never had the chance to be with. I don't know about the part about never meeting her, I don't think that is right. I think he was in love with this girl, but she didn't feel the same way - and even though he tries to quit thinking about her - he can't quite help it. "I’m surfing on the surface with my fingers in the water" I think this indicates how he says that he is over her and has moved on, but he still has his "fingers in the water", as if he is still interested in her - and he can't quite give up although it seems hopeless. |
