| Anti-Nowhere League – Animal Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Nonsense, this song is about how society makes men feel dirty about having sexual urges. The lines "Hello Mrs. Shaw, may I borrow your lawnmower?", "I'm your next door neighbor", and "My wife-she doesn't know me" imply that the narrator isn't some sub-human rape fiend, but an average Joe who hides his sexual urges behind the mask of being 'average'. The last verse appears to be directed at the Anglican Church, who have a huge influence on British values and their attitude towards sexuality. |

| Big Black – L Dopa Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Apparently there was an epidemic of this 'sleeping sickness' (a form of encephalitis that put victims in a coma: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Encephalitis_lethargica ) in the early twentieth century, the girl Albini wrote about was a victim of the epidemic. In the 1960s it was discovered that the drug L-dopa could awaken patients from a coma, and some doctors decided it would be a good idea to wake up these victims who had slept through the prime of their life-- with predictable results. Then Albini wrote a song about it. |

| Rex is a meth addict who hauls 'strips' (?) for meth money and has delusions of being a race car driver while hauling said 'strips' (presumably while on crank). His dad is constantly trying to get him to slow down, but Rex ignores him. | |
