| Straylight Run – The Tension and the Terror Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Yeah, I always thought it was about an adolescent homosexual crush. Reminds me of I Still Remember by Bloc Party. Great song... |
|
| Blink-182 – Mother's Day Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I actually love the guitar and melody in the chorus. It could work in a non-joke song. | |
| The Cab – Bounce Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I find it amusing that he says "Bedspread bandit since '89" when Singer was actually born in 1989 (as well as the other members, I think). | |
| The Cab – Bounce Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Yes. | |
| Fall Out Boy – What a Catch, Donnie Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Ha, yeah, when I heard Costello's actual part in the song I realized that it couldn't have been him in the intro (I've never listened to much Costello). The first time I heard it I just couldn't believe it was Patrick, it sounded so different to me (in a good way). | |
| Fall Out Boy – What a Catch, Donnie Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Does Patrick sing the opening lines of the song? Initially I thought that part was Costello as well, haha. | |
| The Fall of Troy – We Better Learn to Hotwire A Uterus Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| yeah it's definitely about abortion. i just read the lyrics and it seems pretty obvious | |
| Wyclef Jean – Fast Car (Feat. Paul Simon) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This song is amazing Hit and run, the [selling flees] (?) should be Hit and run, the assailant flees |
|
| Blink-182 – Happy Holidays, You Bastard Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Makes sense that you wrote about how they hadn't matured at all before their self-titled album was released. | |
| You, Me, and Everyone We Know – I Can Get Back Up Now (Feat. Max Bemis) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think it's about a guy whose best friend has abandoned him (or whose girlfriend broke up with him, but the "forget the best friend who always carried you" line leads me to believe it's probably not a romantic relationship). At one point he was so depressed that he had begun to change as a person ("it's been weeks since I looked both ways and gave a damn"). Then finally he decides, "I don't get why you've done this, but it shouldn't be my problem any more - you want this to end, then it does, right here and right now." ("Was there something I said?/Because there sure as hell will now/Was there something I said to make you doubt that I could get back up?/Because I can get back up now"). | |
| Alkaline Trio – You've Got So Far To Go Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This song doesn't really pertain to the situation I'm in now, but it's funny how I still relate it to what I'm going through. Basically, I'm crushing hard on someone who doesn't know it and who I can't tell. I know, not quite the same right? But I remember the first time I really listened closely to the lyrics after this began, I just heard him sing "Wanna grab you by the arms and kiss you so hard." And that simple line just threw this person's face into my head. Lines like "I heard everybody's voice cut out when you spoke, and I watched all the lights dim when your eyes opened" do the same thing, but neither as strong as that first line. Great song |

| Say Anything – Alive with the Glory Of Love Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This song, in short: "Fuck it - I'm alive, you're alive, and I want you so bad right now. Let's just see what they can do to us when we have each other as close as possible. Sex, right here right now." |
|
| Lil' Wayne – Hustler Musik Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| hands down his best song, he actually shows off his skills here unlike lollipop shit | |
| Empires – Under The Bright Lights Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Such an incredible song. This band is amazing | |
| Brand New – Sowing Season (Yeah) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
shit, i was just going through my brand new stuff while writing a paper... when this reached the first chorus and he yelled "yeah" i nearly jumped out my chair... this song is incredible. |
|
| Relient K – Crayons Can Melt On Us For All I Care Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| i've had it on repeat for hours. | |
| Lucky Boys Confusion – South Union Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Is this an interlude to Ordinary? It works |
|
| Lucky Boys Confusion – Sunday Afternoon Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Dunno why, but this song reminds me of Doin' Time by Sublime. | |
| Lucky Boys Confusion – Something To Believe Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I find it amusing that a line like "Popped up this morning like nipples in the winter" made it into a song with such great meaning and substance. | |
| Lucky Boys Confusion – Fred Astaire Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think it's using the dancing theme as a metaphor for a much broader idea. | |
| R.E.M. – Half A World Away Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| The "hand's tired" could mean, I dunno, writing letters? | |
| Metro Station – Disco Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
[(Say my name) You don't even know it (Well, I am done) Well, you sure aren't showing it (Now hold my hand) You know she's on the dance floor (Well, I know she's got it) But still she craves more] Should be [(Say my name) You don't even know it (Well, I'M DYING) Well, you sure aren't showing it (Now hold my hand) You know she's on the dance floor (Well, I know she's DYING) But still she craves more] Caps to show changes. Great song, my favorite synth line on the album. |
|
| Four Year Strong – Go Long Dad Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I just have no idea whatsoever where the title came from. I mean, I usually don't with FYS, but this one just seems particularly random because it seems like it could be a title for a song - but it doesn't match the lyrics at all. |
|
| Box Car Racer – Elevator Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Great lyrics and it's a good song, but it all seems too upbeat. I think it should've been darker. | |
| All Time Low – Holly (Would You Turn Me On?) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| The guys in ATL write some of the most creative lyrics I've ever heard. | |
| Monty Are I – Only The Weak Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| When he sings "It's only the weak" in the beginning it sounds exactly like when he sings "I'll take under my wing" in In This Legacy. | |
| Four Year Strong – Prepare To Be Digitally Manipulated Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Everything about this song is catchy. The chorus is catchy... the synth line is catchy... Fucking insane song. |
|
| Jimmy Eat World – Pain Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| "kiss with opened eyes and she's not breathing back" I see as literal... like, his girlfriend OD'd or drowned or died somehow and he can't revive her, and he becomes addicted to pills to try and get rid of the pain. | |
| Atmosphere – Trying To Find A Balance Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
It's definitely "instinct and sex." I can clearly make out the "cks" sound in sex when he raps it. Plus, I think it makes more sense. He's not being redundant when he says "eat, sleep, fuck" - he's clarifying the last line. If saying fuck after sex is redundant, then wouldn't eat and sleep be redundant for instinct? If not, it definitely would for sense... |

| Hannah Montana – The Best of Both Worlds Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I'm 13. And I'm a guy. And I'm straight. And I know professional baseball, football and basketball by heart. And I play guitar in a rock/punk band. And my favorite music is alternative rock. The top played songs on my playlist are Sunday Bloody Sunday by U2, Good Life by Kanye West and Remembering Sunday by All Time Low. And I LIKE HANNAH MONTANA. Deal with it. Not really her music... but the show's damn entertaining! |
|
| Bishop Allen – Middle Management Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
It's on MLB 2K7 but it's a different version. I like that version better but it's a great song anyway |
|
| Jonas Brothers – S.O.S. Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Jonas Brothers = guilty pleasure. Sometimes. This is one of those times. Very catchy. And I find [Next time I see you I'm giving you a high five Cause hugs are overrated, just FYI] one of the funniest lyrics I've ever heard. Plus, look at the guy when 4'7" Moises Arias walks off with his girlfriend in the video... CLASSIC REACTION. I laughed so hard. "WHAT THE...?" |
|
| Lil' Wayne – I Feel Like Dying Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| The song's about Lil Wayne taking drugs because when he's sober he's depressed | |
| Kanye West – Good Life (feat. T-Pain) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
This is probably my favorite song right now... Is it "I'ma get on this TV" or "I'ma get on MTV"? |
|
| Death Cab for Cutie – Summer Skin Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| HOT BASSLINE | |
| Bloodhound Gang – The Bad Touch Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Is it me or is Jimmy Pop the horniest guy anyone's ever heard about Ridiculously catchy though |
|
| Brett Dennen – Ain't No Reason Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
This song has the best lyrics I've heard since Bob Dylan. It's obvious where the comparisons come from. Dennen is a fantastic songwriter and a fantastic artist. It's hard for me to pick a "favorite" line from this song because every single line conveys spectacular imagery in a breathtaking, tear-jerking way. I will cite one however: "You don't need no reason or a three-piece suit / To argue the truth" It's late (or rather early in the morning) and I need sleep, so I'll decline further comment and let that line sit with you. |
|
| Staind – So Far Away Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
It sounds to me like the narrator is speaking of his experiences after going through therapy. His life was so horribly twisted in the past, and then when he finally looked to someone--professional or otherwise--and opened up and got help, things started turning around for him. It's like he has a brand new life, and he wants to share this with his family, girlfriend, friend, or whoever he is singing this to. And at the same time, he is terrified in the back of his head that all these good things aren't really happening ("I'm so afraid of waking / Please don't shake me") It's an amazing song that has truly given me a lot of strength at times. |
|
| Blind Melon – Harmful Belly Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This is a sick new song from a great band. R.I.P. to Shannon Hoon, but I am very impressed with Travis's vocals and look forward to more new material from Blind Melon | |
| Alexisonfire – This Could Be Anywhere In The World Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I think it has to do with the homeless idea, but the thing that convinced me of this was the title: "This Could be Anywhere in the World." True - there is poverty and homelessness everywhere. It's a fantastic, haunting song. |
|
| All Time Low – Remembering Sunday Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| oh and that person in the background of juliet's verse is still juliet | |
| All Time Low – Remembering Sunday Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
i think the guy really loves her and is determined to propose. but she's kind of standoffish, even though underneath it all she loves him too, neither of them really know if she does for sure and his devotion makes her uncomfortable. so she commits suicide, but nobody knows where she is or what she did--he's looking for her, asking around, neighbors think she moved, but then as juliet sings she's at home in the clouds, knowing that she can't come back, and now realizing she loved him but she's "done something so terrible" and now it can't be undone. his "not being sober for days" was because he had gone on a binge after he lost her, and remembering sunday... they ate breakfast together on sunday, probably the last time he ever saw her. "i guess i'll go home now" is referring to he's realized that he'll never find her, he gives up, returns home. it's such a chilling song, so beautiful... i love juliet's part . |
|
| Sherwood – Home Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| the guy's a fantastic vocalist... absolutely | |
| Foo Fighters – Monkey Wrench Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
one person touched on the song maybe being about homosexuality... it actually could be, if you look at the lyrics. {What have we done with innocence It disappeared with time, it never made much sense Adolescent resident Wasting another night on planning my revenge} could have something to do with a kid in his teens realizing he's gay. "it never made much sense" referring to how he never understood the differences he had, although they were always there... "another night planning my revenge" could refer to a night of wishing he wasn't "that way." {Don't want to be your monkey wrench One more indecent accident I'd rather leave than suffer this I'll never be your monkey wrench} "one more indecent accident"--it's not his fault he's gay, it was an "accident"; and homosexuality is widely considered indecent, wrongly. "i'd rather leave than suffer this"--he doesn't want to endure being ridiculed or being an outcast, and the monkey wrench lines refer to defying that ridicule. {All this time to make amends What do you do when all your enemies are friends Now and then I'll try to bend Under pressure wind up snapping in the end} maybe the kid had used to tease one or two gay kids around before he knew he was himself. now he realizes he's in their situation and he wants them to accept him but he knows they won't because of what he put them through {One last thing before I quit I never wanted any more than I could fit Into my head I still remember every single word You said and all the shit that somehow came along with it Still there's one thing that comforts me since I was Always caged and now I'm free} he was sick of always being fed info about homosexuality being wrong and shit, and now he's at least kind of happy because as he said, "i was always caged and now i'm free." And, of course, "one in ten"--the statistic that one in ten men are gay. btw i'm not gay myself, in case you make that misinterpretation--this is just an analysis. |
|
| T-Pain – My Girl Gotta Girlfriend Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Song's actually by Ray-L | |
| Lustra – Scotty Doesn't Know Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Did the band even ever do anything else? | |
| The Killers – A Great Big Sled Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Yeah... "can't do that" I think is a stab at the ridiculousness of some of the political correctness around these days Great song |
|
| The Wallflowers – Closer To You Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| To me it sounds just like a guy who's far away from the girl who he loves, and neither of them can stand it. The idea of gradually getting "closer to" the person could be because he is on his way home or nearing the day when he can return, and the "when you were asleep" line tells me that the guy is saying, "When we're asleep, we both dream about each other... so during that time, we are together." | |
