Skinny Puppy – Killing Game Lyrics 17 years ago
About that little part of Ogre not liking to express specific views on the lyrics, well, seriously, you need to listen to more songs and read some more interviews. First of all, I spoke to Ogre recently. Saw him on the Repo! Genetic Opera Road Show tour. But we didn't discuss music. However, in interviews about his newest CD, Mythmaker, and older albums as well, he blatently stated what some of the songs meanings were, what he meant to get out there. And sure while you say that it might be hypocritical, it's not. Ogre's lyrics are not for the masses, but they are aimed at the governments themselves. And that statement you can find on their "Greater Wrong of the Right" live DVD bonus disc. So, before you go off on a little rant, please, leave the fan stuff to the real fans.

Skinny Puppy – Assimilate Lyrics 17 years ago
I'll agree with what most of Darkmoose is saying. I'm a long time Puppy fan. Ogre is awesome! Both on the music stage and on the movvie stage! (Repo! The Genetic Opera) Now, for Ogre's answer to what to do about the assimilation, he says it at the end of the song.
"Reach for an airway.

Our own death."

Basically, with everything pressuring people to belong in today's society, the only way one could possibly breathe, is to die. Not saying he's telling everyone to commit suicide, but he's saying that we need to break away from the cycle of "Rotting, or assimilating." We need to break away dependence on the factories and work to a higher purpose. As of this point, as Ogre sees it, is that all the 'progress' we've done as a society has only been to live and grow. Hence the bit about going no where. So yeah..Awesome song.

Which Remix? The Gunter Shulz remix is the best. That's on their Remix Dys temper CD.

Skinny Puppy – Candle Lyrics 17 years ago
Actually, the Jack in the Box theory isn't far off. It's about the food industry. Particularly the meat industry. About how they kill more than necessary, and only use a certain amount of the animal, leaving the rest to waste, or as they said "full of pins and needles".

Skinny Puppy – Jaher Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is very political. It is referring to the war. In the lines "My God feels false and sold, to excersise what seems cannot hold" it explains how God is being used to justify reasoning which could not otherwise be justified. And all life ending with death, and all death ending with life it is explaining how we are just killing eachtoher in the name of death. The twin towers to be exact. This song is telling us how the government is feeding us lies and we're believing it. And that is reinterated in the next song on the CD "Politikil" whose lines go on to say "Are you up for the suck" where the government is essentially sucking us of what we are to obey. This whole CD is about the government's hold on us.

She Wants Revenge – Killing Time Lyrics 18 years ago
This song does not describe a 'crime scene' in a literal sense. In the song, there is a guy, a friend of sorts to this girl. At first she thinks he is the best thing since sliced bread, when she already has a boyfriend. He's telling her things to make her leave her current boyfriend, being the bad guy, kissing her behind the scenes. Then, when she finally breaks up with her boyfriend and goes out with guy 1, she realizes that he is no longer the 'bad guy', he is really a sweet guy, and she is not used to that. So, there is already this tension in the relationship. Then, in an effort to get him to be the bad guy, she tries to get him to sleep with her, he doesn't want to rush things, she changes her approach, and they end up sleeping together. He gets a littler nervous, he's deep in love, and she already had been slipping out of love with him. In the lines where it describes that she closes the blinds, it is in those lines where she is in her room with another man. And in the lines where he closes the blinds, he is in her room watching her cheating on him. the line "it's killing time" means that the relationship between the two is dead, the relationship was killed. Basically to sum this up, she likes the guy because he was exciting to her, she sleeps with someone else, and decides to try to save the relationship by sleeping with the guy, he gets nervous, and won't answer her calls, so she cheats on him constantly, and he catches her doing it. Simple as that. It's about a teen romance going to the toilet.

She Wants Revenge – These Things Lyrics 18 years ago
Well, first off, I just want to start saying that everyone in this thread is retarded. The lyrics are most of the way plainly stated.

"And those by themselves by choice or by some reward
No mistakes, only now you're bored
This is the time of your life but you just can't tell."

Those lines pretty much sum up the fact that this song is Anti-Relationship. Saying that the best time of someones life is when they are NOT tied down by a relationship.

The song, therefore, is stating, in all lines and interpretations, that you should just go out there, and pretty much get as much action as possible.

"Lets make a fast plan, watch it burn to the ground" meaning lets get together for the night, then it's done.

"She says I'm a bad man" many women believe that this type of behavior is "Bad", In other words being called a player. Hit it and split it.

"I heard it's cold out, but her popsicle melts" even though there's no real "heat" to the relationship, she's still turned on.

All in all, the song is basically about hitting it and splitting it. No questions asked, no strings attached, one night stands. And those are what the names represent in the video.
