the general idea i got out of it is the feeling and the mundane everyday existance of living in an in patient treatment center... she starts with saying "they tell me i have to get out of bed they tell me i have to keep up my strength i've got to eat something" <----- They make rounds to make sure people are awake and moving, and the second and third line make me think the recovery placement is for drug addiction, or even for anorexia. "but there is no soothing for the boiling of my skin there is no comfort here so what if I'm standing here? i still hurt from my hair to my feet" <----- speaks to the pain she in, addicts when they are withdrawing are very weak, especially if its heroin, they don't / can't eat food. The feeling of withdrawing from heroin is described as wanting to pull off all ur skin often "i know this is nothing now but once it was everything" <------ refers to the addiction being everything "they tell me i have to get up and dressed they tell me i have to start getting out i've got to keep busy maybe exhertion will do me in" <----- the repetition of routine they drill into ur life when in recovery and in treatment centers |

| this song is so pretty. The Gist I get from this is the two people involved in this story know that what they have isn't healthy, or for the best... but the can't get out of the cycle of relying on each other for what they want/need. They both know what they have isn't working for either of them, but neither can change the cycle, and move on to a better version of them, or something entirely different. Then she's asking for him to have a change of heart in the end, almost like she was hoping for the both of them to work on stuff and meet back up, and he moved on... and she didn't. He's still around, but doesn't feel the same anymore. She's alone in how she feels at the end. | |

| I love love love this song, my take is that a person in a relationship of sorts knows that the love between them and the other person (or situation/thing) is neither all good or bad for them, but that it just is. But the fact that it is there is just so controlling that they are starting to feel as if it's too consuming. They think it's great at first, but then it gets too be too much, they both act out... and regardless it still remains. | |

| i gist of the song that i get is that there's the one she loves, and he loves her.. but she's conserned he might stray... or that she might stray in fact, so by saying that they'll go down the longest road to knowhere its say that their love will not be, if either strays.
