The House of Fingolfin followed in order to seek out new lands and kingdoms in Middle Earth and resented the House of Feanor for their oath and actions leading to the Noldor's arrival in ME. | |

| This song is surely about Finrod. He's seen the moon and the first sunrise, whereas Beren did not. It wouldn't make sense for this to be about a man, though it does seem like it's coming from the perspective of someone not of the Eldar. Everything about it makes me think of Finrod, and the next track, which this song leads right into, IS Nom the Wise. | |

| I'm pretty sure that this is about Barahir and the 12 outlaws, of whom Beren was one, being hunted by Morgoth through Dorthonion/Taur-nu-fuin after the Dagor Bragollath. The land was ruined and turned into a place of evil and waste. | |
