| Dave Matthews Band – The Stone Lyrics

Live at radio city music hall -- Dave is kind of mumbling words in the beginning of the song...
"So I'm lookin' through this old book of mine, all the drawings of headless people and sad bastards I dunno I was 15 or so I said what the hell was this guys problem. Some of the drawings were pretty cool though, all simple, some were black and white." |

| Dave Matthews Band – Two Step Lyrics

This song always makes me look at my life in perspective and how some of the problems I see as major are really minor and that I need to focus on having as fun as possible with my friends today, not tomorrow. I always knew Dave's lyrics were the kind of "carpe diem" sentiment, but I never really lived life to the fullest until two of my friends died on the way to school. It hit me that I was wasting my life by sweating the small stuff and I need to get outside and go play some fucking disc golf and get damn drunk. |

| Xavier Rudd – Choices Lyrics

This song is my favorite from white moth. l think xavier is reflecting on some of the choices he's made throuhout his life and how all those choices form who he is today and if he only had a few minutes to live would he be content. I think Xavier is probably agnostic and tries not to think of religion and the "after life" much, but he is a little scared of what might happen if he was to die. He mentions a girl in the song that says "all you have is time, walkin down this line."-I'd say this means all you have is your life on planet Earth and nothing more, which is my belief as well. |

| Bob Dylan – Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues Lyrics

I was watching a show on history channel about circuses and freak shows and tom thumb was mentioned in it. He was a midget. One of the Barnham brothers payed Tom Thumb to dress up as different celebrities during the show. One instance in Paris he dressed as Napoleon and the show received heavy criticism. Another midget can't remember her name also worked under Barnam Baileys and they fell in love. Also a male midget I think he was called Camrado or something came and there was a love triangle and eventually Tom Thumb lost and gave up on his love. Also this is a folk lore |

| The Beatles – You Never Give Me Your Money Lyrics
| 17 years ago
|
|
I think this song is about receiving opportunity and experience rather than money. i.e. "I never give you my number..only my situation." And there is a small interlude in "carry that weight" from this song that has a line that goes "I never give you my pillow I only send you my invitations. " I just think it means instead of completely helping a person for whatever reason you can help them with givin them opportunities to suceed rather than the actual reward. |

I've thought about this song for a while and it kind of hit me. that maybe the reference about lincoln's head is bleeding while she's speaking has to do with Monica Potter. She's an actor Adam Duritz saw in L.A. and i believe he fell in lover with her. I have no clue if he dated her but maybe at one point in their relationship he lied to her(Honest Abe's head is bleeding). This of course is only a literal interpretation but its kind of neat. |

I think this song explains how all of the technological advances in the world will eventually come to an end and life will be much simpler. eg. big sun in a big world, "mercy at my feet." |

It sounds like a man who became successful with a wife but love failed him and now hes looking at the clock at the bar feeling alone looking for his friends and family that have apparantly distanced from him. |

I think this song questions all the ones who question the present government and the cynics who have to disagree with every little thing that goes on in the world. Their point of view is from the "serpent's ruse." |

This song is about coming together. Whether its coming together to end poverty in Africa, millions of kids who have never seen electricity, or simply coming together in a relationship to make it work. Thats why he gave the song a Eastern tinge to the song. |

| Motion City Soundtrack – This Is For Real Lyrics
| 18 years ago

In the beginning it isn't "I've got emotion".
Its actually "I've got a motion"
Although this sounds exactly the same if you read two lines down it goes "I thought i would let you know." which makes the first line sensible. |

nice mystical ur probly right on that
I think the "Destroy and ruin everything we touch
It's easy not to think when you're not told that much" could be about Bush's lame excuse to fight the war |

I must say this song has meaning that every other song can learn from.. life is a wild rollercoaster that you have to adjust to. People change so work with it. Everyone is here for a reason (T-CAP75 said it best) |

PearlJamRules I have to correct you on that comment you said about Eddie thinking its a load of bullshit. Eddie and his wife Beth are somewhat religious just listen to "Given to fly" which is obviously about Jesus.
Now I'd like to put my 2cents in to this song.
Whenever i hear this song I immediately relate it to "Who you Are" which is also an incredible song.
Pearl Jam is all about individuality and hates commercial mainstream shit. |
