| The Dresden Dolls – Blake Says Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Anyone here know the Dolls' song "Truce"? Well, I think that song is about divorce, and Blake from "Blake Says" is the child of those split parents. Listen to the way she sings "very kind" toward the end of the song, talking about taking the fish inside...it's the exact same way she sings "very sweet, very patient, and forgiving" in "Truce". Anyone else catch that? I could be totally wrong, but that's what I'm getting here... |

| Amanda Palmer – Runs in the Family Lyrics | 17 years ago |

"We tend to bruise easily. Mad in the blood. This phrase suggests to me hemophilia, one of the more famously inherited disorders. maybe." My ex-boyfriend had hemophilia...it's a disease that mainly males get, so I'm not sure about that... Still tho, I love this song...I don't think that she's talking about an acutal "disease"...it could just be sluttiness, but she considers it a disease, just like AIDS or cancer, or, as you said, hemophilia. |

This is me and my boyfriend right here... He is a part time lover and a full time friend, and we aren't the best looking people around, but we're adorable together and we have a real love, the kind that you don't find often in high school...I always think of him- no, of us- when I hear this song |

| This song is so sad...it is very beautiful, however, and I cry often when I hear it | |
| Coheed and Cambria – Three Evils (Embodied in Love and Shadow) Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Okay. In this song, Sizer has been captured by The Red Army, where they are painfully tearing apart his body parts in an attempt to get information out of him. The Red Army had originally intended to do this to Chase, aka The Vishual, but as shown in the preceding song, Cuts Marked In the March of Men, Sizer pleaded to Mayo Deftinwolf and The Red Army to trade himself in for Chase, whom he loves and couldn't bear to see tortured. The Red Army agreed, surprisingly, and so Sizer was tortured instead. The dismemberment did not kill him, though, it merely put him in great pain, leading up to the suicidal lyrics near the end. Sometime between the songs, The Crowing, and, Blood Red Summer, Sizer and his limbs are found by either Claudio, or Claudio and Ambellina, it is unsure which, and he is rebuilt and restored to working order. After this, the trio set off to find Jesse at House Atlantic to help him and obtain answers about Coheed and Cambria, as well as Claudio being The Crowing. They manage to get some help from the rascist, psychotic freighter pilot known as Al, and climb aboard The Velorium Camper, his ship, which eventually takes the three to House Atlantic and Jesse, but not without a confrontation or two from The Red Army... |

| Coheed and Cambria – Feathers Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I believe that in this song, Claudio is coming back to Newo, to finally sever ties. When he says, "You'll be cushion just enough to break my falls," it's saying, "You're nothing special, Newo Ikkin, you're barely a cushion for me, I don't need you anymore." Also, I hear a sarcastic tone when Claudio says, "I'm only here to make my peace with you...here's something new." Lastly, the whole, "Hide your feathers on the back porch, baby," I think of peacocks (yes, I know, the male ones have the feathers) with their bright flashy feathers, and Claudio's just saying, "Hide your feathers, wipe of your makeup, you're not impressing me, you never will again, so don't even try." | |

Mmmkay, I think I actually know what's going on here... This song is done from two different perspectives: Jesse, The Inferno, and Sizer, his IRO-bot son. This song is basically Jesse preparing for battle against Wilhem Ryan's righthand man and war guy (for lack of a better term) Mayo Deftinwolf. Jesse and his 4 IRO-bot children, known as the pioneers, are getting ready for the battle and are using weapons known as jackhammers, which Jesse created. The children are Sizer, "...her favorite...", Chase, "...the one they call the vision who bares the gift..." She has the mind of a 20 year-old woman, but is trapped in the body of a 4 year-old girl. She is the only character who can comminucate with the writer. She is also the strongest of all of the pioneers. The other children are Michael, "...the pilot..." named after Michael Todd of the band, and Travis, "...the navigator..." named after Travis Stever of the band. So, now with all these knowledge, Chase is clearly Jesse's favorite, being the strongest fighter and the least likely to be suspected, due to her weak and innocent appearance. Sizer, however, being a deformed IRO-bot, is extremely jealous of Chase's relationship with Jesse, "...Jealous envy for the youngest one To be the hero is all I'll ask Can I be buried here among the dead? With room to honor me here in the end You'll be better off too soon You'll be better off when you get home..." All he wants is to be loved and respected by his father. After 7 hours of preparing, the Red Army is finally approaching in the distant, and the battle will soon begin...! A good description of the best song ever, I feel. |

| Oo-oh, I love this song and the video simply MAKES it. I'm seriously pissed, however, that you can only buy it from the UK iTunes store...but...I love this song, love his lyrics, in short, I love him! Ahhh this song is so good... | |
| Gatsbys American Dream – Work Lies Sex Love Fear Hate Friendship Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Mmmmm...this is my favorite song by them, I love the emotion his voice carries when they scream out the title. You can just see him tasting each and every word. | |
| Secret Machines – Alone, Jealous and Stoned Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I love this song, I feel empathy for the singer, and how he seems very, "outside lookin' in," type-feel, with the whole alone theme going on. I'm being extremely inarticulate, that is so not like me...ah well. I love this song, this band is amazing at capturing emotion. | |
| The Coral Sea – Yesterday/Tomorrow Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Um, I'm pretty sure it's, "...say MY name out loud," not, "...say ME name out loud." But, um... Moving on... I love this song, it's one of their best songs, it's so tragically beautiful, so sad... |

| Secret Machines – I Hate Pretending Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I picture an awkward boy and a really awesome girl inside her house, the boy is purchasing drugs but he really doesn't know what he's doing there, and the cop is about to come in, so the make a run for it and push off the floor, through the roof, and into the stars, and when the cop finally busts through the door, he finds the two of them with their fingers intertwined, laying with their eyes closed on the floor, surrounded by a sprinkling of coke...anyone else get this visual? Ah well, I'm too damn creative for my own good, I guess... | |
| Secret Machines – Lightning Blue Eyes Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Absolute favorite song by them, second favorite song ever. I picture a girl with a storm in her eyes, blazing fury and passion. | |
| Softlightes – Untitled Duet #3 Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I love this song so much, I think of forbidden love and those crushes that you can get on random people that you see on the street for just five seconds, the kind of crush that you think about for the time that you see them, but once that person is out of view the crush is gone. You know, that kind of a thing. I also like the repeating, "'Cause I'm in love, with somebody else," almost like he needs to remind himself that he loves another girl. Really, really, good song. | |
| Softlightes – Heart Made of Sound Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I love this song, and the lyrics are so simple and sweet. But, just two things bother me...these lyrics are kinda wrong, it's supposed to be, "And as I walked, I heard laughs," not, "And as I walked by her laughs." Also, it's a really bad typo in the video that it says, "That took it's drink from a spring." The apostrophe does not go there. If you were to take it away, it would be, "That took it is drink from a spring," which obviously doesn't make sense. But, besides that, I absolutely adore both this band and this song. | |
