Work Lies Sex Love Fear Hate Friendship Lyrics
production line chasing mechanical dreams
i'm not just a number
balances gaining interest but who yields the profit
can you measure a man by the line of his credit
i'm worth more than the sum of my parts
equations don't add up
heed this warning don't go chasing
american dreams ripping at the seams
work lies sex love fear hate friendship
in fifty years you'll be in the ground
i'm not just a number
balances gaining interest but who yields the profit
can you measure a man by the line of his credit
i'm worth more than the sum of my parts
equations don't add up
heed this warning don't go chasing
american dreams ripping at the seams
work lies sex love fear hate friendship
in fifty years you'll be in the ground

he speaks the truth
i think its most about how unjust society is and how the middle class goes thru such hard times and ends up with so little to show for it
This song reminds me so much of the Great Gatsby, although I'm not sure if that's what this song is completely about. "Can you measure a man by the line of his credit?" reminds me about how rich Gatsby was and how he had earned a large portion of his money from bootlegging. and of course "American dreams ripping at the seams" As well as the whole difference between classes and unjust society, as capnmunch said above.
I love the last line so much.
I love GAD. I love how every song delivers a kick ass message.
this band is so much better than their contemporaries.. it's a shame i dismissed their music for so long
Mmmmm...this is my favorite song by them, I love the emotion his voice carries when they scream out the title. You can just see him tasting each and every word.
