John Lennon – How Do You Sleep? Lyrics | 14 years ago |
loved the quip about George in there. i definitely agree. this was below john, seeing as it was quite violent for a man who practiced such peace. that said, this was a response to Paul's equally petty (and pretentious, plus I sort of just hate Paul's solo work other than Yesterday so I'm inclined to dislike that song as well) song "Too Many People" which was an attack at John's preaching and relationship at Yoko. Hate to say it but he "started it." Still, i feel like it left a very bitter feel to the album. Glad they made up later. |
Gorillaz – Rockit Lyrics | 14 years ago |
lol, you're welcome. (delayed response. i don't go on here often) |
Gorillaz – Clint Eastwood Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This song is one of the songs by Gorillaz that has merit to be considered drug related, while others are foolishly assumed to be on no real grounds. However, there is another way to interpret it that makes perfect sense and I'm fairly certain is already in part on here, but not entirely, so here goes: It's about The Good the Bad and the Ugly and becoming something through things that aren't honest, which could also imply cocaine: "I ain't happy, I'm feelin' glad" Tuco and Blondie and the Civil War soldiers get drunk and "glad", but are really just in pain and sad. "I got sunshine, in a bag" The shining gold in the bags cut open/cocaine or other drugs "I'm useless" Tuco "But not for long, my future is coming on" Again, Tuco "Picture you getting down in a picture tube, Like you lit the fuse." Smoking something (drug parallel) "Spiritual hero who appears in you to clear your view when you're too crazy." Clint Eastwood/drug parallel "You like it? Gun smoking, righteous, with one token psychic Among those, possess you with one go." Well, this is a little confusing, but the gun smoking=The Good the Bad and the Ugly "You see destruction and demise, corruption in disguise, From this fucking enterprise, now I'm sucking to your lies" The Bad=corruption "Y'all can see me now 'cause you don't see with your eye. You perceive with your mind." Drug parallel So it's a comparison to drug users to the banditos, people who did crimes that were romanticized and redeemed by society. Now, keep in mind the only clear references to drugs were in Del's rap, and he wrote it on his own, probably (may have had assistance by Damon Albarn). A possibility is that he read the the lyrics as drug related and wrote in that sort of style. But considering how much Damon cares about perfection, there's no doubt in my mind that he told him what to do for a lot of it and that his idea for the point of the song was, again, a comparison to drug users to the banditos. Either way, it's got some very close parallels to The Good the Bad and the Ugly. |
Gorillaz – On Melancholy Hill Lyrics | 14 years ago |
SunnyD, according to the official lyrics book from iTunes, you are wrong. |

Gorillaz – White Flag Lyrics | 14 years ago |
i heard it "I can break out of jail with a lighter, so is there any point in making nose blood," a reference (or so i thought) to the pointlessness of violence because it just doesn't settle anything. however, the officially released lyrics that came w/ the itunes deluxe version: "I can break outta jail with a lighter So is there any point in making laws, blud?" |
Edison Lighthouse – Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
such a good song. Lisa pretty much has it, so no comment on that, but this song is amazing. and yes, tis catchy. |
Michael Jackson – Billie Jean Lyrics | 14 years ago |
child molestation just goes away because he's dead? and "b word?" What the hell is that? He's a prick in death, no matter how amazing his music will always be. Ike Turner beat Tina Turner, but he's dead now. Hope *you* feel stupid now. |
Loverboy – Working For The Weekend Lyrics | 16 years ago |
it always came to me as a story of all these people going out to party on the weekend, hence "everybody's workin' for the weekend" and they get in some fight or someone gets killed or something. Everyone's looking to see if it was you Everyone wants you to come through Everyone's hoping it'll all work out Everyone's waiting they're holding out or maybe somebody got arrested? i 'unno |

Gorillaz – Hip Albatross Lyrics | 16 years ago |
RTBRAND1 ur right. the gorillaz use a bunch of zombie film stuff. M1A1 is a main thing and if you check out their site and book Rise of the Ogre there's a bunch and 2D loves zombie films and Dawn of the Dead is his absolute favorite |
Gorillaz – Feel Good Inc. Lyrics | 16 years ago |
imagine that your in an endless party just having a "good time" the chorus. but you don't like it now. you've built a tower around you of the things you thought it would always make you feel good. but now you realize there's more to life then that and you want out but you can't. you keep trying to make yourself feel good with telling yourself to feel good over and over, but it doesn't fill the void. the windmill is real happiness. feeling good for the right reasons. don't agree than your some kind of a retard cause the band themselves said that's what it's about and they would know dammit. just read Gorillaz: Rise of the Ogre. get it? got it good |
Gorillaz – Murdoc Is God Lyrics | 16 years ago |
jimmy is not murdoc's dad. jacob sebastion niccals or sebastion jacob niccals depending on who is asking is murdoc's dad and this is coming out on their new cd on november 5 2007 it's a b-sides album called D-Sides 'cause their first one was G-Sides cause the album was called gorillaz and the album for this one is demon days!!! can't wait and the Gorillaz do exist 2D is the best and Murdoc is god! |

and the instrument's a melodica |
Gorillaz – Clint Eastwood Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i didn't check every single page cause there's so many but heres the deal and don't say "They're Just Cartoons" cause i'm not a retard and i know that but this is what the writers have to say for the cartoons... Murdoc loves Clint Eastwood movies which is probably explains Dirty Harry "i need a gun to keep myself from harm" Sunshine in a bag is stolen gold with which he will become rich from it. livin' the good life: "i'm useless but not for long, my future is coming on" and del says all of his stuff "don't squeal and remember that it's all in your head" don't tell nobody about the stolen money "i brought all this so you can survive when law is lawless" i got the goods so we can all make due when everything is crazy with outlaws get it? got it? good |
Gorillaz – Stop The Dams Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i'm sorry but i get pissed when people think all things gorillaz must be about drugs AUUUUGH!!! come on people. honestly. it's about what it says its about and that guy with that whole CLING CLANG thing killed the song. It should have been 2D talking. and that's really cool giddy-kitten. i gotta check that song out. and about the whole supporting thing, when they supported the free tibet campaign not only did they make a bite but at the live performance of Clint Eastwood look at 2D's Shirt: Free Tibet wow. |

Gorillaz – Rockit Lyrics | 16 years ago |
OK this is what i call pathetic to ALL Gorillaz Fans If you've read Gorillaz: Rise of the Ogre you'll know that when Noodle came back in phase 2 the place was over-run by zombies and the song is about how all these celebrities are just saying the same crap "blah blah blah blah blah blah blah" over and over and over and they're falsed out eyes are because they aren't real they are icons... False icons that we shall reject. REJECT FALSE ICONS ta dah and the pazuzu is they're because murdoc owns it and if you look around you'll be able to find a bunch of "Choose Pazuzu" stickers on the geep in Kong and on 2D's megaphone in the "Feel Good Inc." video. Look for it. The reason he owns it could be plenty of things. |
