Machine Head – A Farewell To Arms Lyrics 11 years ago
15 comments and not one correct.

This song is about racism and genocide, plain and simple.
The first clue is when Rob yells, "A racist mass divide"

The song warns of genocide of the white race - "we peer through closed eyes at our genocide - so is this how we live? Or is it how we die." What could be more clear.

It is by no coincidence that this song ends an album titled The Blackening.

Thank you for reading.

it's about like virginity and shyness. When he says he's never been outside, here he's talking about shyness, he's too shy too 'wander out'

Machine Head – Take My Scars Lyrics 17 years ago
yeh nice guys, it is a great song. But you're kinda supposed to talk about the meaning here?

I guess it's just about how, yeh, Rob had a tough up-bringing and he's asking ppl who had it easier than he did (those that ate with 'silver spoon', those that 'fuk to feel divine', etc.) to "take his scars" by comforting him, sort of in a religious manner. But then he tells them he's actually found a better way to deal with his shxt ('To break the walls') i.e. his music, etc. than to talk with these ppl, who actually, if u look closely, aren't that cool - U GOTTA OPEN UP YA EYES!!

A song about virginity. 'I've never been inside", he feels shy, lonely and sad, he never had the chance to get close to a girl he liked.

Deftones – Teething Lyrics 18 years ago
anyone ever had painful wisdom (or other) teeth problems?? I honestly think this song is about teething in your puberty and how it holds you back! I had very painful wisdom tooth problems form around 17 - 21 and they definately caused me problems when I wanted to go out, socialize, eat food!, etc. This song to me is about him having teething problems (kinda like his other song Nosebleed) and envying another guy who isn't in pain. His teething however gives him some time to sit back and reflect,

Deftones – Hole in the Earth Lyrics 18 years ago
Didn't anyone think about Global Warming and the Ozone Layer and stuff when they heard this song?? I know it seems to be about him hating his friends and the hole in the earth is a metaphor, but I'd like to think it could be about a (real) hole in the ozone layer and global issues too!

This song is just about being a horny, young dude trying to get some p*ssy. It's called 'Lhabia' for god's sake.

It's pretty obvious, he sings about wanting to 'watch you', the '16 olive skin' girl. Then he sings, 'Look at what it's doing to you' coz his desire is so strong it's taking him over. Like when guys lust over or fall in love with girls they become useless, idiots and weaklings.

I've read all these posts and pretty much agree with the obvious meaning of the song. One thing not discussed or answered however: WHY IS THE SONG CALLED DAKOTA?? Anyone know?

Deftones – The Boy's Republic Lyrics 18 years ago
Yes the China thing does makes sense but I think this song is just about too many or hanging out with boys in general. 'Blue star shine your light' - blue is always colour associated with boys (pink for girls). All blue, no pink. 'Sooth me... Tear lung". If he's hanging out with all boys at least he's not stressing out about girls or fighting with his gf he's just chilling with his buddies. Also what do guys do when they get together? They smoke (and drink), whether it be tobacco, marijuana etc. and I think that's where the 'Tear lung' lyrics come from. Did anyone else think that??
