I definitely agree with your interps here is the whole thing as I hear it: asking, permission didn't I? to self medicate this way once in a while but you're afraid of everything your love's the missing link, you can't appreciate anything dead on the sofa with a record running baby i can't help letting you down letting you down letting you down got your attention didn't I? crying coming apart right here before your eye how disappointed, are you now? i'm still listening, just tell me what you want i won't feel a thing, just tell me what you want leaving you alone wasn't my decision and baby it's not easy letting you down letting you down letting you down |

| Wilco – Radio Cure Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I really like "distance has A way of making love understandable" way better. Because anyone who's been in a long distance relationship with someone they truly loved knows this is true... |

| Elliott Smith – Ostriches and Chirping Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Yeah me too. I skip it when I'm listening to the album because it creeps me out. Especially when I fall asleep with my headphones in. | |
| Elliott Smith – Kings Crossing (Alternative) Lyrics | 16 years ago |

"i felt it in my chest" That's so heartbreaking considering the circumstances... |
|
| Wilco – Radio Cure Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I believe this song is about being in a long distance relationship "cheer up honey I hope you can" Is kinda like I hope you can because I'm not there to help you "Distance has no way, of making love understandable" is obvious... Idk that's my take on the song |

| Elliott Smith – Little One Lyrics | 17 years ago |

...i'm starting to think basement was... sort of elliott's goodbye to the world... kings crossing fond farewell little one memory lane and the song his family took off called suicide machine... i think he was ready to go... sad thought. |
|
| Elliott Smith – Little One Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
...this is about overdosing on heroin or another drug If it's good shit you won't know And I won't know the fact that I'm dying |
|
| Elliott Smith – A Fond Farewell Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I hate how everyone one songmeanings tends to compare elliott songs to drugs and suicide... but this is definitely about drugs...and being very unhappy about using them. |

| Elliott Smith – Crazy Fucker Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Also, Autumn De Wilde, one of Elliott's close friends and writer of the book "Elliott Smith", her daughter is named Arrow, and Elliott absolutely loved that kid =]]... | |
| Elliott Smith – Crazy Fucker Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I think this is a story of him getting into a barfight with some one that has been messing with him all night (who's arrow comes to pick me out). And the kid that he's going to fight is a kid that thinks he has problems in his life, but really he's a middleclass kid that knows nothing about life. And the kid is telling stories about his life and Elliot says he's already full of those useless stories, because he's had problems too And I don't think he ever says"erin" I think Arrow is repeated throughout the whole song |

| Elliott Smith – King's Crossing Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
This is my interpretation of the song: The king's crossing was the main attraction Dominos are falling in a chain reaction The scraping subject ruled by fear told me Whiskey works better than beer A chain of events has happened and he's depressed and trying to drown it out with liqour The judge is on vinyl, decisions are final And nobody gets a reprieve And every wave is tidal If you hang around You're going to get wet He knows if he kills himself theres no coming back, nobody gets a second chance, he's telling people around him not to be sad and to just go away so they don't get hurt. I can't prepare for death any more than I already have All you can do now is watch the shells The game looks easy, that's why it sells Frustrated fireworks inside your head Are going to stand and deliver talk instead The method acting that pays my bills Keeps the fat man feeding in Beverly Hills I got a heavy metal mouth that hurls obscenity And I get my check from the trash treasury Because I took my own insides out Talking about the record label and how he feels violated by them It don't matter because I have no sex life All I want to do now is inject my ex-wife I've seen the movie And I know what happens He feels unwanted and all he wants to do is shoot up It's Christmas time And the needles on the tree A skinny Santa is bringing something to me His voice is overwhelming But his speech is slurred And I only understand every other word Open your parachute and grab your gun Falling down like an omen, a setting sun Read the part and return at five It's a hell of a role if you can keep it alive But I don't care if I fuck up I'm going on a date With a rich white lady Ain't life great more on his addiction... the white lady is heroin slang. Give me one good reason not to do it (Because we love you) So do it The final cry in the dark... they say they love him... but he says do it and don't just say it. This is the place where time reverses Dead men talk to all the pretty nurses Instruments shine on a silver tray Don't let me get carried away Don't let me get carried away Don't let me be carried away He's talking about the afterlife... dead men talking to nurses and time reverses. |

| Garth Brooks – Beer Run (B Double E Double Are You In?) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Classic Garth Brooks? How About he stole this from a man named Todd Snider because he's a stupid hillbilly who can't write his own songs. | |

| Ben Folds – Late Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Did anyone else realize this song starts out with the same chord as the first chord in the piano version of "Miss Misery"? I thought when i listened to it someone had mislabeled the song for the first 3 seconds. | |
| Bright Eyes – True Blue Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
This is the meaning i like to take on, it's probably not what Conor had in mind but it makes a lot of sense: Think of "True Blue" as being like yourself... like not pretending to be something you're not. If you take on that meaning it makes a very happy song, with that meaning lines like these make a lot of sense: I sing the blue notes to my blue friends Now I don't know that much about you But I like you because you are true blue I guess the thing I'm trying to tell you Is that it is best, kid, if you’re true blue Oh, I felt real blue eating that blue fish (kind of at home, or happy with yourself) Because there ain't much that I won't do Unless it keeps me from being true blue =] |

kratosaurion, You my friend... wayyyyyy over analyzed this song, Kurt wasn't always angst and depression... read his journals, Kurt was a funny guy. This song is simply about Kurt getting raped by the cast of the Andy Griffith show. |
