Public Image Ltd. – Rise Lyrics 9 months ago
@[xod:53330] "May the road rise up to meet you." Lydon put a spin on it to fit the song.

Alice Cooper – Fields Of Regret Lyrics 13 years ago
It's the only song on the album that gives a glimpse of what was to come from the band.

Alice Cooper – He's Back (The Man Behind the Mask) Lyrics 13 years ago
Alice hates this song. For real.

Alice Cooper – Lay Down and Die, Goodbye Lyrics 13 years ago
"Tell me why you brought me here" is pretty clear on one of the versions. It's a cool instrumental, but I'm not too keen on Glen's solo.

Alice Cooper – Nobody Likes Me Lyrics 13 years ago
The version of this song from Toronto in '69 is brilliant. They wisely kept the studio version under wraps as it's lame as hell, and the Whiskey version has alternate lyrics which make no sense ("yes we all hate you; we hate your dog spot").

Alice Cooper – The Man With the Golden Gun Lyrics 13 years ago
I thought it was actually written for the film, and not used.

Alice Cooper – Wake Me Gently Lyrics 13 years ago
Awesome song that drips with emotion.

Alice Cooper – You And Me Lyrics 13 years ago
I agree. This is one of the most un-Alice songs he ever did. It just has to be satire. Tell me that these awful lyrics could be anything more than a joke: "we share a bed, some lovin', and TV".

Alice Cooper – Today Mueller Lyrics 13 years ago
It's about a girl the band knew back in Arizona. "Today" is actually her name.

Alice Cooper – Only Women Bleed Lyrics 13 years ago
I've known several people who simply saw the song title on the cassette and got offended.

Queen – Tie Your Mother Down Lyrics 13 years ago
The line "gimme every inch of your love" has a clear homosexual meaning, considering that it is sung by a man. Contrast this with Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" which includes the line "I'm going to give you every inch of my love" (sung by a man to a woman). It's possible that Freddie ad-libbed that line.

The Verve – Bittersweet Symphony Lyrics 15 years ago
The whole Rolling Stones copyright fiasco could have been avoided. The prominent string hook that the song is known for was ADDED by The Verve, which means that the entire Stones sample could have been removed before release without changing the song's sound very much. While it's true that Ashcroft also borrowed his verse melody from the Stones' song (The Last Time), plenty ofartists lift parts of melodies without repercussions. I think they'd have gotten away with it. And of course you can't copyright a chord progression, so no problem with that either.

Donovan – Hurdy Gurdy Man Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is based on an actual dream Donovan had.

Alice Cooper – I Got A Line On You Lyrics 18 years ago
This is a Spirit cover which Alice performed for the Iron Eagle II soundtrack. Here's a bit of trivia: Led Zeppelin stole, or "borrowed", the core music of Stairway to Heaven from another Spirit song.

Alice Cooper – Wish You Were Here Lyrics 18 years ago
Where's the line about "don't forget to feed my cats?" That's the funniest part.

submissions
Alice Cooper – Sick Things Lyrics 18 years ago
This is Alice's tribute to his fans. The only part I don't understand is "sick things in cartridge tapes", because HE would be the one on the cartridge tape (the recording artist).

Alice Cooper – Refrigerator Heaven Lyrics 18 years ago
The percussion effects in this song that sound like ice being chipped are really cool.

Alice Cooper – Raped and Freezin' Lyrics 18 years ago
What, no comments on this one? One of the best Alice Cooper songs ever, and funny as hell! I especially like the "Mexican bullfight" ending.

submissions
Alice Cooper – Pass The Gun Around Lyrics 18 years ago
Help me here people, is a heroin needle really sometimes called a "gun"? Or is this just a cheap way to add a twist ending to the song?

submissions
Alice Cooper – No Man's Land Lyrics 18 years ago
I love this song! It's catchy as hell and has fantastic lyrics. Why this song or album didn't chart is beyond me.

submissions
Alice Cooper – Mary-Ann Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is a very subtle, but hilarious, joke. Anyone hearing it for the first time will have a serious WTF moment :) And then they'll get slammed with I Love the Dead immediately following.

Alice Cooper – Give The Kid A Break Lyrics 18 years ago
The amazing thing about this album is that no one who isn't familiar with Alice would ever believe that it consists of lighthearted SHOW TUNES like Give the Kid a Break! "Alice Cooper Goes to Hell" just sounds so menacing! It's too bad Alice abandoned this format so long ago.

submissions
Alice Cooper – Devil's Food Lyrics 18 years ago
The vocal processing on this song is amazing.

submissions
Alice Cooper – Da Da Lyrics 18 years ago
I always thought he said "I'm feeling rough and kinda hungry too. Where's my boy?", implying that he ATE his son.

submissions
Alice Cooper – Ballad Of Dwight Fry Lyrics 18 years ago
Bob Ezrin had Alice perform the vocals while covered in a pile of stack chairs.
