Fields Of Regret Lyrics
Forever I'll enjoy you undertaining
Come to see you every day now if I can
Is it not the time for everybody?
I still wake on the fields of regret
There is something to this dream we're all involved in
Can I see it, can I say it may exist
Why then don't the night show really matters
If we dwell in the fields of regret
What horror must invade the mind
When the approaching judge shall find
What sinful deeds from all mankind
With death and nature in surprise
Behold the wretched sinners rise
To meet the judge's searching eyes
And when the doomed no more can flee
From the flames of misery
Assist me while I die
Wander through those ever thoughts though if imagined
But come down on it's so easy to resist
Rest me, hide my years upon the planet.
Sound another, no part over, won't forget
When we laugh at the fields of regret.
Come to see you every day now if I can
Is it not the time for everybody?
I still wake on the fields of regret
Can I see it, can I say it may exist
Why then don't the night show really matters
If we dwell in the fields of regret
When the approaching judge shall find
What sinful deeds from all mankind
Behold the wretched sinners rise
To meet the judge's searching eyes
From the flames of misery
Assist me while I die
But come down on it's so easy to resist
Rest me, hide my years upon the planet.
Sound another, no part over, won't forget
When we laugh at the fields of regret.

This song was/is the most sincere of all Alice songs. The deepest heaviest and most moving song I ever experienced.
One can hear the long suffering of years of fear. The true-est testament self doubt.
@RJSoftware It's been one of a very few best loved songs of my whole life. No joking. It's a fascinating song. I also dig "Below Your Means" from "Easy Action".

This is one of the only good songs on "Pretties For You". One time I was listening to this going through a car wash, and that back-and-forth sound in the middle of the song went along with the things cleaning the car.
It's the only song on the album that gives a glimpse of what was to come from the band.
