| Helmet – Sinatra Lyrics | 11 years ago |
| The song is really about the girl the narrator likes and how she's obsessed with Frank Sinatra and how he feels like he can't compare to her unrealistic ideals. There's a lot of teenage angst; driving around looking for a parking spot (so they can make out where no one can see). It's really a song about how girls and especially teenage girls size guys up by comparing them to famous men, and the feelings of the song's unreliable narrator who literally believes his girlfriend is in love with Frank Sinatra and not him. | |

| Duran Duran – Girls On Film Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| It's not really about models or porn exploitation. It's about snuff films. No one shoots a porn underneath a bridge at midnight or on a railroad track. A cute little song that on the surface has a good beat and a catchy hook, but is really about something twisted. Duran Duran, pure genius | |
| Duran Duran – Night Boat Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| This song is actually about killing someone in the water, and the narrator is waiting for the boat to come so he can escape. The night boat is less inhabited, i.e. taking the night boat is usually for runaways, escape artists, etc. Really great song that shows how awesome Duran was, they could openly write songs about snuff flicks, murder and orgies and the nicest people would still buy their records | |
| Chimaira – Secrets of The Dead Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| This song is about how Mark Hunter has to fight a zombie army of telemarketers. THEY KEEP CALLING ME BACK! | |

| Faith No More – Cuckoo For Caca Lyrics | 13 years ago |
It's cold and it's smooth and it's a hard shade of white = Ice Cream The first two parts are about a glutton who eats the entire carton of Ice Cream out of the box. The second part (pre-chorus) is about the fact that people want to be rewarded for things they should be doing anyways, and in turn they develop a bad habit. Third part: "They have no legs but chase us anyways" (our habits). "Wipe the shadow of your best friend" (in this case, your own shadow), "Gave birth to something we don't want to be" (developing habits) "we drop our good side" (relapsing). Fourth part: Eat it just as deep as you can fuck it (sexual compulsion and gluttony having parallels) So cough it up (binge and purge) or go down (fasting, liquid diets). Fifth part: We'll retire with the turd on our lips (even if the food isn't digested yet, he's imagining it in the past tense while consuming it in the present tense) under a pair of knowing eyes (admission that he has bad habits too) I'm gonna take a few down with me (I'm going to attempt to enjoy it) and drop my good side (I'm going to enjoy my bad habits). Sixth part: You can't kill it (Your habit, your pattern). Seventh part: Take it from our drummer, Puff (Mike Bordin), being good, it gets you stuff (a playful shot at Bordin's quirky nature). This song has three meanings, at least. 1. The obvious analogy to shit and coprophagia. 2. The subtle analogy to human bad habits. 3. The end credits stab at Mike Bordin for having weird, curious and quirky habits. |

"GENERATOR "That song is everything I like about our band. It kinda has that melancholy, pop-punk, Buzzcocks kinda thing to it. But it also has some weird classic rock in it." - Dave Grohl This song is actually about the band itself, as one of the meanings. |

| Children of Bodom – Banned From Heaven Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Rev. 1: "It's a call in the dark and I shout Wait on your knees to pose But you probably knew that I was lost Did you think that I would cry out? For something I have lost? Swift with the knife for I cannot be Yow! I blame myself for every second That I was gripped by some foe Standing for the only one, for you This rotting heart I tow "Not even God can stop me now!" I was the one who sold My body and soul to the devil Knowing that I know when I'm dead I am the one with pride Sip holy smoke I scream with fire [Chorus] Wake up in a pool of blood Locked up, when you get banned from Heaven Looking down just saw me dripping down blurs Don't worry, I'll get up to get down where I belong Banned from Heaven (4x) [Chorus] Wake up in a pool of blood Locked up, when you get banned from Heaven Looking down just saw me dripping down blurs Don't worry, I'll get up to get down where I belong (2x) " |

| Down – Lifer Lyrics | 16 years ago |
There's an interview where Phil talks about this song and about 'Lifers', who are, in his words, people who do nothing else except music, who don't want to do anything else except play music. This song is about Phil talking about being on the cover of a magazine, he's looking at a picture of himself, his 'frozen image'. Also, the lyrics are wrong in every place they're transcribed, everywhere. These lyrics are also WRONG. It doesn't say 'myself' and 'my health'. It says 'my cell' and 'my hell', if you listen closely - the chorus actually changes each time you hear it. This is not because Phil was high, this is because there are DIFFERENT LYRICS. First chorus: My cell, My hell Second verse: Arms in knots Liver spot My blood is paving your woes Stealing keys Sold to me It kills the brotherhood Writhes with pain Second chorus: Myself, My Deal Third chorus: My Cell, My Tale, My Cell, My Hell |

| Rammstein – Pussy Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Definitely about sex tourism and censorship in Germany, and the way the rest of the world views Germany as a whole. Most people will write it off as a corny song about sex and an excuse to make porn but it's actually a cleverly hidden message tucked into an explicit surface message, like a lot of their songs |

| Muse – Unnatural Selection Lyrics | 16 years ago |
There are no songs on The Resistance that are specifically about US politics. A lot of people have latched on to a few of the lyrics in the songs and bent them for their own leftist ideals. Let me say that the best way to examine this album is from a neutral perspective. This song is about class warfare. When you're born you have a very small chance of being born into a rich, elite family, and a very high chance of being born into a middle or working class family. It's also about attempts to bend Eugenics, which is why the title is 'unnatural selection' - Because the rich didn't become rich on their own power but on the backs of others. They believe that they're "chosen". To me this is the defining and best song on The Resistance. Also the bridge lyrics are wrong amongst others. The bridge says: "Try to ride out the storm Whilst they'll make you believe That they are the special ones (We have not been chosen) Injustice is the norm You won't be the first And you know you won't be the last" |
| Muse – Unnatural Selection Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| United States of Eurasia is not about US politics. It's about all the wars that have been going on on the continent since forever and the fact that certain countries still refuse to join the European Union. | |
| Muse – Unnatural Selection Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| That's ridiculous because Matt doesn't live in the US. Just a tip. | |
| Fightstar – Where's The Money Lebowski? Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I just now realized how completely and totally wrong these lyrics are. Here's the real lyrics kids. It's come to this You're covered in blood So how could you miss Here we are Here we are Just take a seat You've lost the world You stand up on your faith Here we are Here we are Stop believing you're precious And just take another hit for me Stop believing you're precious Cause I give you all that I could give It's come to this You're drenched in sweat So how can you sleep Here we are Here we are Just take a seat You've lost the world Just stand on your faith Here we are Here we are Stop believing you're precious And just take another hit for me Stop believing you're precious Cause I give you all that I could give Stop believing you're precious And just take another hit for me Stop believing you're precious Cause I give you all that I could give |

| Zeromancer – Clone Your Lover Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This is actually a song about a guy who tries to make someone else more like the person he actually wants to be with, and at the end he realizes he still wants the other person. |
| Zeromancer – Doppelgänger I Love You Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This is the sequel to 'Clone Your Lover', about meeting someone who is just like you and falling for them and realizing how different you really are from that person. | |
| Van Halen – Atomic Punk Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Also, for three, this was one of the first media references made to Philip K. Dick's 'Do Androids Dream of Sheep'. This one actually predates the movie Blade Runner by a good 4 years. |
| Van Halen – Atomic Punk Lyrics | 16 years ago |
For one, the lyrics are wrong. For two, this is a concept song based on a 'Steampunk' theme. |

| Deftones – Pink Maggit Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Do you really need to backmask Pink Cellphone to hear all the dirty parts? lol Also this is PINK MAGGIT not Pink Cellphone. It's about having one night stands while you're interested in someone else |

The explicit version says: Define your meaning of fun Is it fuckin', druggin' or guns |
| Fightstar – Where's The Money Lebowski? Lyrics | 16 years ago |
"Stop believing you're precious" sounds just like "Stop parading your angles" in Deftones - Elite, and the scream has the same tones. The reference to Big Lebowski is the idea of the chase, a lot of red herrings. They go all over looking for the money when the whole thing was a setup from the very beginning. It's the dude's viewpoint of being used over and over again. |
| Ozzy Osbourne – No More Tears Lyrics | 17 years ago |
The red light comes on to say it's time to begin: Prostitution. Who is the most famous serial killer of prostitutes? Jack the Ripper. Draw your own conclusion though, of course |

| Bloodsimple – Ride With Me Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This entire song is not just based only on "The End" by The Doors but is borrowed from other doors songs, with added original parts that borrow from other Doors songs. The introduction is "The End". The "Ride with me" sections are borrowed from "Celebration of the Lizard" where Jim says "Run with me". The verses are references to "Riders on the storm". First verse: "The other night I was out riding in a friend's car And out there on the side of the road There was this snake This snake had eyes of fire and fangs from another world But he was selling something He was selling devotion He was selling dreams, he was selling lifestyles And I said sure man what you got I'm interested in anything that's gonna get me off And the snake just stood there and smiled with the spit in his eye and cried" "Theres a killer on the road His brain is squirmin like a toad Take a long holiday Let your children play If ya give this man a ride Sweet memory will die Killer on the road, yeah" Ditto for the second verse, only: "Girl ya gotta love your man Girl ya gotta love your man Take him by the hand Make him understand The world on you depends Our life will never end Gotta love your man, yeah" The final verse is "Universal Mind". "I was doing time In the universal mind I was feeling fine I was turning keys I was setting people free I was doing all right Then you came along With a suitcase and a song Turned my head around Now Im so alone Just looking for a home In every place I see" Basically, it's a tribute to parts of Doors songs. |

| Coheed and Cambria – The End Complete V: On the Brink Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Actually, Claudio has said this many times... that 'home' is his term for death. Claudio, the character, dies, and he's telling Claudio, the writer, to go on with his life. That's just my opinion... |
| Coheed and Cambria – The Hound (Of Blood and Rank) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I hear different stuff at the end now... 'In the left side dividing and in the pest we left you dying only words can keep you hiding' The faint background vocals I think say (danger, danger), but I can't prove it... |
| Coheed and Cambria – Gravemakers and Gunslingers Lyrics | 18 years ago |
So DRAW little piggy, better watch out for number one (I feel there's a bad wind blowing today) Also Little scarlet, don't you creep up that fucking road (It's best that you don't go walkin through there) Also It's just the WORD I'm looking for. Also the guy who said the album isn't good by Coheed standards is on some kind of drugs. This has some of the best guitar work they've EVER, EVER, EVER done, just on this song alone.... |

| Coheed and Cambria – The Lying Lies and Dirty Secrets of Miss Erica Court Lyrics | 18 years ago |

| Coheed and Cambria – The Willing Well III: Apollo II: The Telling Truth Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This is the 'complete' version of 'The Writing Writer', where the events are actually happening. It's a summary of the complete story that has happened in this CD. The first two verses and parts are the same stuff from Apollo I: Claudio (Character) is ordered by Claudio (Writer) to finish his mission, kill Ambellina, kill Wilhelm, and destroy the Keywork. This time, however, the Character accepts his role. The references in the song aren't 'Favor House Atlantic' or 'Delirium Trigger', The 'Everything Evil' reference is 'Jesse, bad boy, just come look at what your brother did, to that girl's precious little whore of a body.' The 'Blood Red Summer' reference is: 'What did I do to to deserve all of you?' |
| Coheed and Cambria – The Willing Well II: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This song is about Claudio (Character) preparing to kill Ambellina in order to gain the power to fight Wilhelm. He kills her and eats her, and in doing so, gains the power of the Prise. | |
| Coheed and Cambria – The Willing Well I: Fuel for the Feeding End Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Claudio and the Writer are not the only characters in this song, although it's primarily a battle between the two... Wilhelm Ryan appears at the end of the song. Watching his tale with the words he unfolds A conscience and cold we'd never know They scream as he laughs off the dust from his eyes These worlds will now learn of the dreams in his mind The Writer reveals that Wilhelm Ryan will return to play. |
| Coheed and Cambria – 21:13 Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Remember that the songs in their order on the CD don't necessarily happen in that order on the album. He's both recalling the death of Cambria at the end of Second Stage Turbine Blade, and preparing to tell the new story. | |
