OMG...how random! I totally agree with you. This song was to me from me, literally. I was all metaphors in my life. The lyric "I don't need to be fixed & I certainly don't need to be found, I'm not lost" to be is my way of telling people I'm not different, IU'm just gay. I know Kelly didn't write this with the intention of been used for homosexuality but it appeals to me so much. The whole song, "I'm strong, but I break, I'm stubborn & I make plenty of mistakes", could this song be anymore me!! Lol.

If you check the writing credits for this song you will see Richie is named! So this leads me to think the song is about him been on the road with the band & he is ringing his wife to tell her how much he loves her & the kids. The child doesn't understand and just says "Daddy, when ya comin' home". He explains by saying I'm their with you all the time, deep in your heart.
Yes it can be about a long distance relationship or a truck driver. Hell it can be about lots of things but I'm just stating the obvious! |

The lyrics speak for themselves. An old man & women are celebrating their anniversary. They know each other so well that she can tell he has a burden. But she doesn't nag him about it as she know's he will tell her his problem in due time.
The song is basically a diary to their lives in the sense he brings back up all the dreams they had as a young and almost niave couple. They things they never did.
She simply reminds him that it's not what they never did it's what they have done. He never left her & he always was beside her every step of the way in their lives. |

This is my fav on Martina's album. It shows that redemption is possible. That love conqours all. "Still only God gives life in spite of modern medicine" is such a profound but true statement. She felt she was paying the price for her past sins when really Jesus paid the price all those years ago on the cross. Nobody know's why God had planned by the Girl not having the baby. But then we find out she has a boy who is just three. |

This song is great. It deals with worldwide issues. It is a happier song than "Concrete Angel" & "Independence Day". It deals with a girl seeing her Daddy drink & probably been abusive. Then she gets molested by her uncle. That does it for her so she runs away & leads herslef into another predicament of having an unwanted baby for her boyfriend. She wants the baby so she decides he is no good for her or the baby. She wants what's best for her baby like most parents do. She hopes her daughter does not have to see or feel what she did. It is an awesome song. She know's there is light at the end of the tunnel. |

Martina said on The Greatest Hits DVD she would like to think she left and did not kill herself. That's just her opinion. I myself think she left him & lived her dreams. The dreams he use to "shoot" down. The window is like a metaphor for her hitting the road & leaving his sorry ass. As for the piece about her not having any faith, "he wondered why she didn't leave leave" shows she must have went to church on regular basis. The note in my opinion is her way of saying thanks but no thanks. "She loved him like he was the last man on earth", this shows she probably still loved him through the emotional & mental abuse. So she maybe left him a letter saying get help. That's just my opinion, take it or leave it! |
