| Thriving Ivory – Long Hallway With a Broken Light Lyrics

I think through all the figurative language it just comes down to someone in a relationship/friendship and they are questioning the other person. They want to know if their friend is headed in the right direction - if they know what's best for themselves. Later in the song it also seems like they question whether their friend is even still there for them. Just wanting the best for your friend but also wondering if they are still 100% genuine and there for you til the end like you'd be for them. |

| Thriving Ivory – Day of Rain Lyrics

The girl is lost within herself. It happens to everyone at some point in their life. You wake up one day and don't know who you are or what makes you tick. It's a scary thing and you just find yourself wanting and needing to get away from everything and everyone. I think that's what happen to this girl. She just asked to get away. He let her go to that unknown place that gives her solace but then realizes that she's going to need someone eventually to help her get out of the rut. He knows he's that person for her. So after contemplating he goes after her. He wants to help her find herself and bring her back home and everything it entails. Even when we ache to be alone, we still need those relationshps. |

I love this song. When I first heard it, it reminded me of going off to college. Maybe two people in a relationship or maybe even just two really good friends - either way one had to leave and pursue other things in his/her life. They had to say goodbye for now. And as they were driving home they realized the great significance this other person held in their heart. It sadden him/her that after they left, their other half would just keep living their life while he/she was consumed by thoughts of the relationship which once was. Hence the entire chorus which I understand to be like a "just wait for me to come back ... we could be greatness if you can just wait for me" type of thing. |

WOW! I love this song. I never heard of this band until I looked up the lyrics to the song. I'm still trying to decipher my way through the lines but it's a great listen anytime, anywhere. |

I agree with all of you. It is an amazing song!
And I think it's about a couple ... or even just 2 good friends ... who have to part ways for some amount of time. And the singer is telling the other they are an incredible person and when they meet again by a twist of fate, they hope that nothing has changed about them. They are "beautiful" just as they are and make life worth living. |

I just heard this song for the first time yesterday and fell in love with it.
As cliché as it may sound, I hear it as embracing every aspect of life while you have it. Don't take the small moments for granted and live in the moment. Realize the amazing and crazy stuff going on around you and just make the best of it ... learn to fly with it. |

I heard this song on the way to work yesterday morning and found myself singing it all day long.
I see it as he is telling a girl - who broke up with a guy he knew she should have broken up with long ago - that he will be there once she has taken the time to heal and most likely help her through it as well. He wants to be her everything and knows he can give her so much more than the idiot who broke her heart. Love it! |

| Gary Allan – Learning How To Bend Lyrics

I see it as a person telling the love of their life that they are maturing into the relationship slowly but surely. He/she knows they are meant for each other and would do anything for them; but they are also learning to give up that selfish single lifestyle. Lines 6-9 of the chorus really sum it up. It's a great song! |

This will be so far back on the comment list I'm sure nobody will ever read it ... but I'll type it anyways =). When I play this song I think of it as someone having a mentor that they end up becoming amazing friends with. They look up to this person more than anybody in the world, hence "I'll be the greatest fan of your life." I just think of somebody having an incredible friend/role model that will always be there for them. But maybe that's just because it happened to me ... |

wow, the first time i i heard this song it hit me like brick wall. i too think of it in more of a friendship light than a romantic relationsip simply because that's how it fits into my own life. but i think of it like when you have a friend who you are growing closer to throughout the years ... even though you think may know a great deal about them, you still can't help but feel like they haven't told you everything. that there is so much more to their life that they havent' shared with you yet (positive or negative things). and you are trying to let them trust you but they just won't completely let their guard down for some reason. and after a while of being persistent you come to realize that they will tell you in their own time when they are ready ... and until then silence has to suffice. this interpretation may be way off from everybody else's but this was my gut reaction when i first listened to this song. i can't get enough of it. |

"you make it easier to be me" explains it.
it's like when you have somebody in your life that means more than words can tell, whether it be a serious relationship, a friendship, or even a mentor ... and when you feel like the world gave up on you, they are the ones telling you to keep going. Despite all hardships you may encounter, they will always have your back and genuinely believe in you. |

| Lifehouse – Make Me Over Lyrics

To me, this song means you love someone so much that you'd change yourself to make them happy. All you want is to be that "stand-out" in their life and you constatlty want to be on their mind ... because you can't stop thinking about them.
Basically, you want to mean as much to them as they do to you. |

I think we all can relate pretty well here.
We all have those goals (or relationships) we just want to succeed in. If you think about it, nothing is actually stopping us from going for it - just like that. Tomorrow isn't promised, so why not make as much progress as you can now? Take the risk. You'll never know what the outcome is unless you try.
Today can be the day you make the change.
Right now. |

Obviously the entire song pertains to the baby story. It makes a lot of sense now that I think about it in that way.
But I also think certain lines can pertain to a relationship. It shows how that's the only 1 person in the entire world he wants to get to ... and once he finds them he can breathe a sigh of relief to see they are okay. |

I agree with the first 3 posts.
When I hear this song, I reflect on all those great times I've had with my friends. We don't have much time left together before we have to go our separate ways for good, so we try and make every moment count.
The title says it ... it's just about awesome memories. |

I just wanted to throw out there that "don't pretend you ever forgot about me" is a great line. It's why I listen to the song.
I met someboyd (just a good friend) a few years ago and now that we've gone our separate ways (because we had to) I don't want her to forget about all the great times we had and all the fun jokes. |

My friends still make fun of me with this song. Mickey ... *sigh* ... he was truly my tall, dark, and handsome. |

Hmmm ...
I think this ong is about attempting to move on with your life and getting over things in the past - whether they be positive or negative. No matter how many horrible memoires haunt us or even how many amazing memories we want to cling to ... we have to stay in the present.
But in this song, as the person is trying to get through, the past keeps coming up. Maybe he keeps seeing a person that reminds him of eveything that happened? It's happened to me, I know that much. |

I agree with coolmel12.
Most of us have those people who push us to do our best and change our lives for the better. Once we've grown and succeeded in life because of their lessons and their help, we can truly realize how much they mean to us ... how our lives wouldn't be what they are today without them. |

| Mat Kearney – In The Middle Lyrics

Mat Kearney's music is so unique. This song is one of my favorites from his CD. In the beginning:
I meant it all and every part
And every word right from the start
I'll never let this love fall in the middle
I think it could refer to a personal relationship or even a goal he set for himself years ago. He won't let his passion for that person or that dream "fall in the middle" It's his main priority to make it ... whether that means moving further with the relationship or success in the business. |

I am also confused, Drummergirl659. The line about "How's your wife and your kids?" is strange since it's a male singer. Maybe his partner from years ago left him for a gal? And now, although he can't fully appreciate his partner's new life, he has to accept it? Not sure about this one ... |

This song is adorable. Every girl wants a guy to sing something this sweet yet simple to her. I love the part where he sings:
"And I can't believe that I'm your man, and I get to kiss you baby just because I can."
It's so sweet ... and this is how it really feels to be in love. You're on top of the world. I love the upbeat vibe. |

There are so many posts for this song. I'm sure nobody will actually read this, but it's worth a try. I really think this can apply to any teenager's life. When there's unwanted high school drama and nagging parents ...you just want to get up and leave for a completely new place. A place where nobody knows your name and you can almost start over. |

I absolutely love this song. It reminds me of one of my really good friends I met during school a few years ago. She has changed my life for the better in so many ways, and I could never thank her enough.
