| Necrophagist – Foul Body Autopsy Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| It kinda reminds me of primitive scientists trying to learn about anatomy. Like, in medieval times they would steal dead bodies from morgues to dissect them and figure out what was inside them. | |
| Necrophagist – Symbiotic In Theory Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I think this is kind of an attack on organized religion. People let their god of choice govern their thoughts and lives, taking away any semblance of free will. The line "Inferior or superior, will is that which decides" means that even if somebody is making bad decisions in their life, it's still their decision to make, which is the beauty of free will. This solo seems really similar to the solo in Fermented Offal Discharge. In fact, I think "Symbiotic in Theory II" would have been a better title for FOD. |

| The solo in this song is incredible... It makes me think of the sound of angels being murdered. | |
| Linkin Park – Points of Authority Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Ah, if only LP still actually wrote lyrics that meant a damn thing. I think this song could either be about a romantic relationship or a parent-child relationship. Like, the antagonist always wants to be right, thinks that the other should do everything they say, and then punish them when it fails... I've been through this before in either context, so I know how frustrating it can be to have someone tell you that you'll be wrong no matter what you say. Great song, very angsty without being emo (which they've apparently forgotten how to do!). | |
| Linkin Park – Bleed It Out Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
You know, once upon a time, Linkin Park was one of my favorite bands. Their lyrics I found to be quite poetic, their musical style was new and refreshing, and they were honestly the closest thing to rap I would listen to. When I heard they would be coming out with a new album, I was quite ecstatic. After all, I thought their break up would be permanent. But when I first heard this song, I quite nearly cried... my Linkin Park, the band that opened the door to rock and metal for me, had sold out and turned into another emo band. I would just like to say that people who listen to this new stuff, who condone musical fads, destroy artistic credebility. Essentialy, this entire album was a turd, and a dissapointment. I give it at best a 3/10. |

| Meshuggah – Sane Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
When I read the lyrics to this, I immediately thought of one thing; organized religion. It's saying how religious leaders use their position and power to manipulate people and to get what they want. "A rapist of the truth, adapting it to fit my cause" I think this line in particular talks about how so many higher-ups in the catholic church molest the words of the bible, and tweak them to justify their own actions and desires. For instance, the abuse of dogma, and the whole paying the church to atone for dead relatives in purgatory. It's all manipulation and scheming. In short, they're saying organized religion sucks. And I agree 110%! |

| Disturbed – Just Stop Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
You know, all of the things about destructive relationships make perfect sense, but I thought of something totally different when I heard it. I thought it might have something to do with the way religious people tend to look at non-religious people's lives and just totally pick them apart. The line: "All that you want is to criticize something for nothing." Makes me think of how Christians always judge me and my lifestyle when they know nothing about me, like they just live to criticize. But, that's just my take. It's probably wrong. :P |

| Gojira – Clone Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I'm sure this song is speaking out against cloning. It reminds me a little bit of Rammstein's Mutter, only instead of saying how cloning affects the individual clone, it focuses more on it's affect on the planet. Like what would happen if all humans became clones of a "genetically perfect" person. Then there would be almost no more genetic variation and the human race would start to stagnate... pretty deep stuff. \m/ Gojira rules! \m/ |

| Arch Enemy – We Will Rise Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I love this song! Definately one of Arch enemy's best. There is a clear message of rebellion in the lyrics, but I think it goes deeper than that. I think it also has to do with the fact that she is a woman in a world that is mostly dominated by men. And so of course at first she's going to be looked down upon at first. But then she comes back and kicks all their asses and proves herself to be more brutal and manly than most of the guys... hence the "we will rise", like they're saying "Arch Enemy will be bigger and better than you ever were." Anyway, that's just my opinion. |

| Mastodon – Cut You Up with a Linoleum Knife Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Best... song... EVER! | |
| Meshuggah – Neurotica Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
This is one of Meshuggah's more upbeat songs... If that's even possible. Anyway, I think it has to do with the way religion destroys indivudality. The way people are molded into mindless sheep who do whatever their faith demands of them, without ever questioning it. It could also have something to do with the way overly religious people tend to have a "holier than thou" attitude, but are blind to the fact that they're no better than anyone else. Great song. |
