this is hands down the best song on Chase This Light, bit of a shame it's only a bonus track. Chase This Light's a bit disappointing though and i think i enjoy this song so much because it's the most Futures-Esque song on the whole cd. this song would have to be about taking risks and not just going with the flow of life. |

that's a good interpretation of it, mitch-oscope. chris quit the band for about a year before this album was made, but came back (quality decision) maybe he needed it because this album is bloody brilliant. they could be basically bowing out with this song, sick of the music industry, quitting on a high, on their moment in the sun. |

really i couldn't care less about the lyrics, they don't offend me or anything. but doesn't it highlight the fact that sex sells? (well.. not quite sex.. but chicks making out) if it were called i kissed, let's say, an arabian dude, then no one would give a flying fuck about it because it's not "girl-on-girl action" as little poser boys would classify it.
umm.. and the meaning.. well you don't have to be stephen hawking to know that. |

before i start, i've got to say that this has been my favorite song for months now and is up there with my all time favorite songs. absolute fucking musical gold :P
well. i'm gonna agree with the macbeth theory on this one, i've been studying it in school and there is quite a few quotes of macbeth in this song,
mainly the "tomorrow, and tomorrow and tomorrow" where macbeth reflects on the bleakness of his future, and it also seems that alexisonfire are singing about this in the song too.
the first line "i'm in a constant state of getting cut, so why don't i feel anything" also mirrors macbeth's state of mind, and he states that he no longer feels any emotions towards the end of the play due to his tormented mind.
there is also of course the mention of the knife being the most important appendage, which rings with the story as well as he uses the knife to murder Duncan and succeed him as king.
