if you guys only know the version with the female singer (like on the teppid peppermint... and also on their satanic majesties...)then look for another one with anton on vocals himself...its pretty much the same but the voice sounds better i think and the guitars a slightly different.....dont even know where i got that one,but it was the first bjm song i heard and i was like who the fucks that.from that day on i listened to almost nothing else for about a year...fuckin great song.... |

one of my favorites....if you can say that about the fuckin greatest band out there since the velvet undergound...the drums are just so damn good...the guitars always are the shit.that part after antons singin "...deep into her vein,here we go" is just soo good...that describes the feeling you get out of a smack hit like no other part in any song,except for some lou reed stuff...antons the fuckin godfather of todays underground rock music...no doubt |

i think it's definitely about spiritual cleansing in the form of a glance behind the doors of perception.the term plateau is used to express the top level of the trip even in scientific studies.and the lyrics fit perfect.line1 tells about the ancient history of poisoning yourself to increase your possibilities of perception.l3 means that you can see everything everywhere on your trip and these appearences welcome you on the top of your high.the bucket&mop are symbols for the cleansing of your mind.this line stands in contrast to the one "you see alot up there but dont be scared",first he says theres nothing on top then he says you see a lot.that expresses definitely that he's talking about a spiritual experience.you see things that arent there actually,that you cant see with your eyes so you might be scared of it but usually dont need to (the ones of you who ever did acid,mescalin or psylocibin know what hes talkin about!).the book about birds is a symbol for being free,your mind can fly wherever you want it to.after you are finished cleaning your mind simply by experiencing,by having a glance into yourself,you will feel different.and in most cases the work pretty sure is fun.the last stanza is about the different ways people think they could find inner peace.some think they gotta go somewhere to find it,to travel maybe or whatever.others (like me) think they can find everything right there where they stand,because the only thing you need is your mind and a substance or mehtod (like yoga for example) to open the doors of perception..... |
