Ok, I think that this song is to a close childhood friend and an ex-girlfriend who maybe dated both, the speaker and his friend. "Two in my heart have left me a while, I stand alone. | I think that this song is about two people in a relationship and the one person keeps cheating on the other. Everytime the other person finds out, he/she apologizes and they get back together and it happens again. It's like just when their trust is building again, it gets smashed to pieces again. I totally agree with the whole drug using/abusing idea because Adam did write most of the songs when he was in rehab. "If I stay it won't be long Till I'm burning on the inside If I go I can only hope That I make it to the other side" He knows that if he doesn't get help he's not going to make it and even though it might be late to get help, he hopes he can make it. I really like the line "That I make it to the other side" because it sounds like he is dead but he's trying to come back to life/ to the other side. |
