The Dears – Meltdown in A Major Lyrics 16 years ago
The song is called Meltdown in A Major (not 'Minor')
And it's "Beamed down from above"
=)

PJ Harvey – The Garden Lyrics 17 years ago
In the end Miss Harvey says "Looking FOR his songbird/Looking FOR his wings"
Not "at".
It seems minor, but I think it makes a big difference. Since this affair, the songbird and his wings have disappeared. I can't say much about the songbird, but the wings certainly represent innocence or at least being an angel. After what happened, he lost his wings and became a fallen angel of sorts. He sacrificed it all for such a sinful desire, but he was deceived and left with nothing but a fall from grace.

I'm thinking it's definitely Jim's based on the chorus and the general feeling of resentment toward Caroline.

This sounds like something from Depeche Mode. Well, at least the lyrics do.
Does anyone know who is speaking?

Interpol – The Lighthouse Lyrics 18 years ago
Why are there two "Lighthouse"s on this site?
The way I see it: The Narrator is standing in a lighthouse while a huge wave is coming. The lighthouse is old or something, and he knows that the lighthouse is going to collapse from the impact.
"It's the place that's said to break
It's just as safe from the outside tonight"
He might as well be outside. He's doomed either way. The waves represent some sort of oppressive force, or perhaps God. You can tell that the narrator is not scared them though. He actually embraces the circumstance.
"And let the waves have their way now
Slow, and let the waves have their day"
He's been living on roofs of sin (on the lighthouse, I guess) which implies that he's probably a sinner. He was probably excessively selfish. This is further emphasized by the "let the waves have their way now" line. It's as if the narrator recognizes that he has had his own days of glory, by being so bright yet so selfish.
"Here I've been lucid I'm living within
INWARDLY URGENT and sinking again"
Anyway, he doesn't fear the storm or his impending death because he figures that he has it coming anyway. He realizes that he made a huge mistake in being so self-indulgent. This death would be his way of atoning.
The only line that throws off my whole interpretation is "And I warned them."
Why would a "sinner" be warning anyone?

So I'd say that ZombieStar's suggestion may fit better.

Kelly Clarkson – Irvine Lyrics 18 years ago
Amazing. This is how you end an album! Something shocking, beautiful, and artistic. I didn't think Kelly was capable of this.

Kelly Clarkson – How I Feel Lyrics 18 years ago
I think it's Kelly saying, "I'm sick of guys. I'll never find a good one, and it's probably all my fault."
Someone's telling her she's being to dramatic about this, but Kelly just wants to be that way. She's comfortable being kind of dramatic for now. That's why she sings, "That's how I feel RIGHT NOW." She knows this is just a phase. I've had plenty of friends go through this same stage.

Kelly Clarkson – Maybe Lyrics 18 years ago
One of the best songs on my December. It's amazing and very emotional. I can relate to the lyrics well. I'm so pround of Kelly for writing this song, and this whole album along with it.

Kelly Clarkson – Sober Lyrics 18 years ago
Pinkbutterfly, isn't this song similar to "Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol? It did well commercially.

Anyway, this song is terribly beautiful. These are some of the best lyrics she'll ever write along with those in "Maybe." This song confirms that Kelly is pretty much one of the best vocalists...perhaps ever...?

Kelly Clarkson – One Minute Lyrics 18 years ago
This should be a single! It's so catchy and fun! I like the lyrics too. "One minute you laugh/The next minute you're slowly sinking into something black"
I'm pleasently surprised bby the new Kelly!
