Oh, most of you seem to think this song is about death, that's pretty strange to me cause I always thought it's about life! About celebrating life! About wanting to live life to the fullest, wanting to experience all the beautiful things that world can give you,wanting to see everything, to do everything, I think meaning is extremely positive! Because of that, this song was always one of my favorite PJ songs, and I find a personal meaning in it because that feeling: "you can't keep me here" has followed me since I was a little child, I always wanted to go and discover the world but many things and people stopped me, including myself. Also, I always felt this is one of Eddie's more personal songs in which he's really speaking about himself, about how he really feels, just look at the lyrics! And the last line I personally like to think of in sense that he (Ed) will live forever and their music also will, that because of their music he'll never die. The song's wonderful! |

This is one of most beautiful songs that I have ever heard. The lyrics make me feel something inside of me , my strength. It makes me smile, because it says that after all mistakes that you made, you can still decide, and you should decide that your life is worth living, and that all your past makes you strong and not weak as some of us think. There's a fight inside of me every day, in which I try to win, I try to convince myself in all this, to close the big black hole in my soul. The music is like a higher musical form, it's more than a regular song, it feels to me like a composition. I hope that somebody at least understands what I mean even if they don't feel the same. I'm so proud of Mike because of this song, and of the whole band for playing it. |

I wish I knew what this song was really about when it was written ,because it obviously has a lot of meanings now. Most of your thoughts are right, I think. At one moment I started to wonder if it is maybe about bombing of my country in 1999. "Please forgive our hometown in our insignificance" I read what JordyWordy said and I think that there is a possibility that the song was like 5 or 10 % inspired from this events. Politics and goals of governments of some countries make wars, media transmit false truths, people half a world away hate somebody else who they never saw,how can you judge if you didn't see for yourself? Innocent people die and masters of war get what they want. "deserta faciunt et pacem appellant". And, all human beings ,we all want only to live in peace, in peace! free. I'm from Serbia. |

First album is actually called "Songs about Jane" . I love the first album, Especially "The Sun". I didn't buy this one because I don't like the first two singles , but I like this song. It sounds as if there is still hope for them, but I wouldn't count on it because it's so easier to just go completely commercial and lose your magic, or is it that this is all that they can give us today. Either way , if they occasionally give us a song like this, I'll be satisfied. Oh, maybe it will all be ok and they will come back with a third album that is as good as the first. |

This song is perfect. :) because words and music blend together so good. It always inspires hope in me. "one more time around might do it, one more time around might make it..." Most of all because of the line :" I learned that I was a liar just like you." He is means :I realized that I'm just like everybody else. I'm not better or worse. On the other hand : one little mistake can ruin your life for good, you always have to be careful. And also if I look at it from another perspective it seems that this man just wake up and went to do all sorts of crazy stuff or at least unusual for him, and/ or wrong.
