Oomph! – Gott Ist Ein Popstar Lyrics 17 years ago
well i'm pretty sure it's not just about christians! i guess it's about this whole stupid religion thing going on right know. people are killing each other bacuse of stupid things like that. almost everyone has a religion that he/she supports - for what?! if there wouldn't be relgions, people wouldn't kill in the game of god/allah/whoever.
it's in a way ironic, because the world is praising god because of his grace and all that stuff, but in the end he (as a symbol which people take a as an apology for doing bad things) makes everything worse.

Oomph! – Die Schlinge Lyrics 17 years ago
it's about knowing that someone has made up his/her mind about you but hasn't said that yet. and you're just waiting to her it and that kind of kills you, because you know he/she will leave you (or wathever) and finally you're just begging for redemption. (because when the person has said it to you, you can let it go.)
in "Spiel mir das Lied vom Tod" ("Play me the song of death") "tod" (="death") stands for the end of your relationship, friendship, whatever.

Oomph! – Das Letzte Streichholz Lyrics 17 years ago
it's about a girl that destroys its home because her parents treat (oder treated) her very bad. that's what you can read in the lyrics.
but i think you can interpret more in it: the song could be generally about the point when you say "stop!" and take revenge for all the bad things people did to you. "Damit ihr wisst, wie es ist
in der Hölle zu sein
Damit ihr wisst wie es ist
nach Erlösung zu schrein"
(="So that you know what it's like
To be in Hell
So that you know what it's like
To scream for redemption")
and she song is called "das letzte streichholz" ("the last match") because after your payback (or the girl's), they can't harm you again. (literally the girl burns down her home and probably kills her parents. but i think that's meant figuratively for making sure they can never hurt you again.)

Oomph! – Augen Auf! Lyrics 17 years ago
i guess it's about an ambivalent relationship between two people. he wants to find her, probably he feels like dying without her: "Ständig ruf ich deinen namen
Ständig such ich dein gesicht" (="I'm always calling your name
I'm always looking for your face")
but at the same time he wants to harm her (revenge?): "Wenn ich dich dann endlich habe
Spielen wir wahrheit oder pflicht" (="When I finally have you
We'll play truth or dare ")
(but the lyrics don't show if it's about a woman. i guess it's basically about the feelings that you have when you like an trust someone and then he/she does something bad to you. then you have very ambivalent feelings about revenge.)

Subway To Sally – Kleid aus Rosen Lyrics 18 years ago
i guess the tattoo is a symbol for the bad side of love. the girl wants to fall in love and in the end she's alone, because love can hurt and can easily turn bad. (think about the roses, usually they're a symbol for love!)

Negative – Still Alive Lyrics 18 years ago
i don't really know that much about jonne (he has written this song and also sings it), but in a way i can identify myself with the lyrics.
i think it's about feeling tired and being sick of living, but there is still a person who makes you carry on.

>in my deepest fears i'm losing you<
>in my sweetest dreams i'm with you<
"you" is kind of the sun of your little world. it's the only things that makes your life worth living.

>i look like i'm dead but when you look at me i am still alive<
i have two interpretations for this: 1. when you look someone in the eyes, you have to be with this person, you are sharing some time. so being watched by "you" may is a proof of being together and i think that's kind of the most important thing, if "you" keeps you from commiting suicide. 2. you feel like your already dead, because there is just this little something ("you") that "saves" you and maybe you think that everyone can see that. so you want the "you"-person to look at you (at your heart and soul) and see, that you are still alive.

>just turn off the lights don't wanna see me die<
>won't you open your eyes don't wanna see me cry i'm right here where you want me to be fighting with myself<
i think this goes with a little bit of anger. "you" may doesn't want to see that you're dying (or you just think that it's like that), but you're not sure about it, because >you want me to be fighting with myself< shows that "you" wants you to fight against the part of you that wants to die. if that's true, "you" sees that you are sick and tired, but may doesn't show it very well.

at the end i have to admit something: for me, this song is about suicide and how you are able to carry on. it's my way to identify with the song. i think that probably it's not so dramaticly meant by jonne.
