The things that guy says at the begginng turn out to be very ironic now that Audioslave have broken up! They were heroes of rock music, unstoppable, such a great band, and eventually they were stopped by themselves since they decided to break up! The lyrics have some mistakes!! The message in this song is pretty clear! If you love there are times you get pain! And be careful who you trust! Especially in the lyrics:

Chris himself said that the song is a way of expressing his anxieties about the world today and where it's going and how he worries about the future and his family! He also said that it is something like an echo of Sound of a gun! I think that the first lines mean that our time is gone and we go from bad to worse and also that whatever he has managed and built in his life starting from nothing is now in danger! |
