See I definitely see this song about not wanting to go to bed because he realizes how much he loves this girl and he just can't understand how he ever went through life before her: So goodnight moon, and goodnight you, when you're all that I think about, All that I dream about, how'd I ever breathe without A goodnight kiss from Goodnight You? But even further than that, I love the Romeo and Juliet tie in. IN Romeo and Juliet Romeo constantly uses light and dark as a comparison for Juliet (she is the sun, a diamond in an Ethiop's ear, etc) and so does he: And there you were, as I saw my Juliet come graceful down the stairs, It's hard to miss the way her eyes light up the room and steal the air. And then the fact that they know the Sun is rising but they don't care brings in the Romeo and Juliet because after romeo and Juliet get married Romeo spends the night yet he has to leave the next morning because he killed Tybalt and is now exiled, but Juliet pretends the sun isn't actually coming up. And dream for me anything, but dream it in color about We know the sun's still rising and we don't care. Pretty much this is a great song and all of the allusions in it are amazing! I can't wait to see them on the 16th. |

So I went out and bought her roses she complained about the thorns i caught her smiling and that's what i do it for loveeee that verse. super sweet and i think it sums up the song, yeah the girl can get on his case and be annoying, but he loves her. he loves making her smile. so sweet. |

Yeah and to add even more, the line "even family members and best friends bleed" goes right along because 1. Mercutio, who is both a family member to the prince and Romeo's good friend, dies and 2. Romeo's mother kills herself because he's exiled. And of course Romeo and Juliet die. And then "this story's ending in a tomb of lovers" because not only do Romeo and Juliet die in the tomb, but so does Paris. And the "watching two families quarrel ruining lovers fate" because of course, if their parents hadn't been fighting, they wouldn't have had to hide their love. Such a good song. |

I think this song is about a boy and a girl who were in love and are a couple but are going through rough times. "Katie, don't cry I know you're trying your hardest And the hardest part is letting go Of the nights we share." But he still loves her and wants her to know. But she doesn't really believe him. "Because these words were never easier For me to say, or her to second guess But I guess that I can live without you, but Without you, I'll be miserable at best." And so they go on a break and says she should stay away from him and he saw her with someone else and can't get that image out of his head and knows he loves her and might have lost her. "It's been three whole days since I've had sleep 'Cause I dream of his lips on your cheek And I got the point that I should leave you alone But we both know that I'm not that strong And I miss the lips that made me fly." This song is so sad and lovely. |

I never really thought about what the song in general means, but to me it's about an exboyfriend of mine. He calls me kid all the time, and I used to break up with him and he'd just be there completely helpless so the chorus: Kid I'm right here and I'm not leaving There's no way to make you stay is like perfect for that. But yeah this song is about how Jeremy davis, right before the band was going to sign for this cd left to go back home for "personal reasons" and it became the concept for the whole cd. Thats the reason why the cover is an empty couch with a shadow walking away from it. I love this song and the whole entire concept of the cd... we've all had someone wlk out of our lives before. | I'm pretty sure that this song says "I'll make your darkest days so bright" not "alright". I love this song though. And I think it's either about a friend or maybe even a dad (if you've seen the music video) dieing, or getting into an accident and almost dieing. But it is still amazing. | |
