| Emilie Autumn – How To Break A Heart (Poem) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
It, together with "at what point does shakespeare say" and "ghost" is added in the Limited Deluxe edition of the album Opheliac. And it is wonderful. One interpretation could be that it is about a girl turning down a proposal, simply because she was tthaught to do so by the ghosts, or mindghosts, she has spoken too since she was little. |

I agree with TryNotToPanic. Also, it feels a bit as if she puts herself in this womans situation, simply because of the line "will you always attend my midnight tea parties as long as I set your place if one day your sugar sits untouched will you have gone forever" We all know how Emilie loves her tea parties ^^ The story kind of makes me think of Taltos by Anne Rice, the resident "ghost" in that book is a bit like the one of this poem. |

| I think that this is only based on Rapunzel, a version without the prince... | |
| Emilie Autumn – Rose Red Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I think this sing is based on the book Rose Red (Ellen Rimbauers diary), which is basically about a house that a man builds for his wife, but never is finished, The wife becomes obsessed with building the house, and it never is finished. Her soul is incorporated with that of the house, and the house "incorporates" womens souls to help build the house, while it kills the men, as revenge for Ellens husbands crime against her. I don't remember the details, since it was awhile since i read the book, but it seems to fit the song "Someday these walls will speak The floors beneath you creek To call my name" |

From Emilie Autumns webjournal: Posted: Mon Oct 25, 2004 2:41 am Post subject: Gothic Lolita, Round 2 So I'm home tonight finishing the lyrics for a song on my upcoming "Opheliac" album entitled "Gothic Lolita." Oddly enough, it's not about the fashion, though I am a huge fan of that as well (duh), but rather about the real thing, if you know wheat I mean. Really, what's more "gothic" than a child who grows up dead because of emotional murder at the hands of hapless pedophiles? Autobiographical? Well, sure, but find me a little girl who hasn't been fucked around with by some professor or other and I'll turn a rat into a bouquet of tea roses, I'm not so fucking special. So I'm having a bit of a hard time with it I don't mind saying, or maybe I do, because songs generally come so very easily to me, like trains of thought that happen to magically rhyme - not boasting a bit, because there's plenty of shit I'm bad at, like driving cars for example. So it really traumatizes me when the songs don't come easily because of some stupid block or because I'm subconsciously denying that any of this ever happened. Writing this song puts me into a really foul mood too. Time for some wine and soy cheese. That ought to settle it, no? |

| Emilie Autumn – God Help Me Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think this is about abuse, a woman being beaten, but not wanting to leave "Don't make me choose, I've got too much to lose" | |
| Emilie Autumn – Misery Loves Company Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I get the feeling of adultery, of being "the other woman" and getting tired of it. Also, knowing she's not the first woman he's had an affair with; "You're not the first You're not the last How many more? Don't even ask" Also knowing all along that she's just being toyed with, and ending it by saying how predictable he is "you're so easy to read, but the book is boring me" |

| Emilie Autumn – Swallow Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I think it's about being famous, and about her starting her own record company. for example; "I don't need a minder I've made up my mind Go away" makes me believe it's about a manager or something. I will swallow would then pretty much mean, I will trust that you get my career on the right track/make me famous/do it my way, but if you fail, i'll take your career with me when mine is over... Not an exact interpretation, but the feeling i get from the song. |

| Jack Off Jill – When I Am Queen Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| *forgetting to add stuff in one post* This song is one of those Ilisten too when i feel like cutting myself. Part of my self injury prevention play list... ^^ | |

| Oh, also I agree with Cinnamon Spider. PRetty much, until then I'll keep on being self destructive and fucked up, but one day I'll be Queen... | |
| Jack Off Jill – When I Am Queen Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I feel that a lot of people miss the part of self-injury. I find the part of "with perfect scars upon my wrists" and "the glitter sores will heal themselves" as not having to hurt oneself to feel better. I myself have "perfect scars upon my wrists" and the thing about it being scars and not sores give me the feeling that self injury is in the past for her. Also, sores that heal themselves could be more than metaphorical. | |
